@mw963 - I assume you're the same person I was talking to about this box over on DS!
As I said further up this thread, I recently took delivery of the Edision Primo S2 in the UK.
First impressions are very good, bearing in mind the cost and size of the device (it's tiny!). The standout feature for me is of course the DD+ sound, but the remote is excellent too. I know this isn't a dealbreaker for many people, but the button placement is very intuitive - it has a similar layout to Sky's remotes, along with the ability to learn functions from other RCUs (and store them on 5 buttons at the top).
Booting from cold takes 15-20 seconds and the setup procedure is very straightforward. It has all the usual features for these boxes - IPTV compatibility, YouTube etc, and came pre-programmed to Astra 1 - with the German channels listed at the start of the channel list. Satellites are organised by band, so you have (for example) 'Eutelsat 5WA Ku' and 'Eutelsat 5WA Ka'. Scrolling through all of these is a little frustrating when attempting an individual TP scan, but other than that, the tuning/installation process is again fairly easy. Like last year's Octogon box, I suspect the multistream codes are pre-programmed, but I've no way to check as it's currently working on every multistream TP available through my Diseqc switch. Software updates are pushed over IP: a message will appear after booting up asking whether you want to upgrade. The latest update was 10th Feb.
I haven't tried blindscan etc as I prefer to use the TBS6522 on my PC - this box is just for the kitchen. I'd place the sensitivity of the tuner between that of a Foxsat HDR and the TBS6522 - both of which are known to be pretty good. One negative: the picture output seems slightly dark, though this has improved with the latest software update. The simple solution is to just adjust the input-specific picture settings on your AVR/TV.
Happy to answer any more questions if you've got them!
