Just measured the diameter of the motor stub / pole on the DM on which the OP 125 L is mounted - it's 50mm.

PS: I suspect that both DM's here could well be clones of the original ALSAT (which disappeared some years ago) DM since they came from the same UK supplier - and, also, I have read that most, if not all, DM's currently on the market ARE clones. However, I somehow doubt that the diameter of the stub / pole would vary between those from "different sources".

Thanks - thus it would appear that I was "probably wrong" in saying that all "DM" motors seem to have the same diameter stubs / poles since the DM shown in you link appears to have a 55mm one!

Therefore anyone with a "DM" should measure the stub / pole diameter before buying a new dish.

Are there 2 types of gibertini 1.25 dish ? I've seen some which have a silver metal looking more rounded lnb holder and some have a more square lnb white painted lnb holder. I read there might be 2 versions a heavier and a lighter version .... thoughts..... thanks

Take a look at the Gibertini website pages for sat dishes
I will be getting 2nd hand. Its more a question has there been differing versions over time...I'm sure I read there was an aluminium one and a steel one...maybe thats the difference signified by the differing lnb holders...?

from the website:

  • The dish is available in aluminium alloy or in steel powder painted with U.V. inhibited polyester-based finishes in RAL7035 (light grey) colour.

Antenna net weight with aluminum dish (kg)(³)16.5
Antenna net weight with steel dish (kg)(³)21.20

dilema is now which one are you getting second hand??? without being there to weigh it.

looks like the alu version, is just 3.5kg more than a Triax TD110

If in doubt, trying asking the seller.

If you do get a Gibby to mount on your DM, you might want to take a look here, from post #17 onwards, at the heath-robinson way I made up the additional "clamping plates" to beef up the existing DM->pole "U" bolt clamps - and, personally, I would advise doing something like that before any distortion of the latter happens (OTOH, I didn't realise that that might happen until it was nearly too late:rolleyes:).

Without referring to the Laminas site, the 1200 has the three thin tubular arms to support the LNB (like mine) and the 1200P has two tubular support arms and a square section arm for the LNB. It was possible to buy the square arm etc to replace the three tubular ones. I think the "P" arrangement would be slightly more rigid but as has been pointed out the reflectors are the same...

Looking to the two links, the dish faces are constructed differently ( they may be from a similar mould), the position of the feed arm supports and the back bracket holes are for another size of bolt.

Well guys - i finally did it....
My new Laminas OFC-1200 arrived on Friday and i managed to put it up yesterday (in between rain showers and crazy winds). It needs a minor alignment tweak, but all is well - getting 45w to 52e
I couldn't believe how light the dish was, I could lift it up one handed even with bracket / lnb poles and lnb - so was easy to get it up ladder onto motor.
Ive attached some pics for your enjoyment :)
Oh yes, i moved the bottom bracket as i DID need more clearance to accoomdate the larger size, and the fact the AZ bracket is in the centre of the Laminas.
I have a pic, of the Laminas, my Triax TD110 and Gibertini to show size differences....

It's surprising how light Laminas dishes are. My 1.8m one is only 17kg or thereabouts, whereas the same sized Channel Master is double that. Was a good performer too... Pity it's sat in the garage doing nothing.
