not working - but 4.2.2 feeds working ???this device tested in dubai city and unfortunatey not working and showing 4.2.2 feeds without interruption.
put F1 on thenpicture is too slow.
I’ve seen some of these boxes with a 1.5amp output which wouldn’t really be suitable for driving a dish. What’s the comparison to Technomate all about. What is your point? It is an external PSU which can be changed easily..The Technomates however, are internal and subject to failure, I speak from experience...
Is your box attached to a motorised dish. If not could you attach it up to see how it handles one. 1.5amp looks a little lean for driving a motor. Here's an observation re: the GTCombo psu marking which might cause some confusion.
It states 12v Negative on centre pin of power plug when in reality it has 12v Positive outgoing on centre pin.
The marking on the receiver casing socket itself is correct.

USALS Motor current is generally 350-400mA max (ie When an H TP is targeted) That leaves a little over 1A at 12v to power the rx itself. Surely enough?I’ve seen some of these boxes with a 1.5amp output which wouldn’t really be suitable for driving a dish. What’s the comparison to Technomate all about.
No, I don't use them to drive a motor. I have a couple of Research Concepts antenna controllers driving my dishes..Is your box attached to a motorised dish. If not could you attach it up to see how it handles one. 1.5amp looks a little lean for driving a motor.

Ok but could you possibly hook up the GT Combo to the dish motor just to test its ability to drive the dish East/West and back again. At least I could rule in/out the possible purchase of this unit. Claims are made about receivers being able to handle DISEqC and USALS but many fail the motor test. I’d be happy enough to purchase one if it could do this job.The GTCombo is attached to a motorised Elite Antennas 2.2mtr PF dish but i use a Research Concept RC2000 Dual Axis Controller to drive the dish
Add the LNB current (unless the GTMedia disconnects when moving.USALS Motor current is generally 350-400mA max (ie When an H TP is targeted) That leaves a little over 1A at 12v to power the rx itself. Surely enough?

No worries. I’ve locally made 12v 3amp power supplies here which I use on most of the Asian electronics I have. Looking at the supplied PSU I wouldn’t use it anyway.I can't i'm afraid, don't use DISEqC or USALS
You're not suggesting that heatsink could be better fudged onto the main processor ?Assuming passive cooling, how warm is the box running at the moment. Is it like a pocket warmer yet. The only reason I ask is the odd behaviour these boxes display under load. No doubt you have a few more paces you’d like to put it through before you make a final judgment call.
A reasonable test for a lower bit rate 4:2:2 signal might be the "Al Forat" channel on 10.0E, it is in 4:2:2 with bit rate of 8.9mbps.
It should be less load on the GT Combo?

.. Another weird one,
Firstly, the receiver is running barely luke warm after spending nearly half an hour or so battling with this weird 4:2:2 channel.
The rx channel info screen shows the 'Movie camera' icon associated with a 4:2:2 transmission but not the text line 'AVC 4:2:2' and is a very choppy picture.
