Did the satellite guy check your rim for issues ?

sorry no idea what you mean

Going to put the old lnb back on when the weather improves, and have a good play around, only getting 85% signal on sky news 1 west as i write this, but i did say to leave it peaked on 7 west, so going to have a play with the old LNB at a later point
Why did you not get your satellite guy to change the LNB and set it up with his spectrum?

good question, he spent some time with the new LNB and said he didnt think the LNB was the issue, as i had tried the older LNB before, but now im getting some lower signals so might as well play again, but good question and a vaild point.

He just concentrated on the dish problem CH

He tried to get could get more out of the dish, moving it up/down left and right, but no luck, he also tried skewing the lnb and again moving dish up and down, left and right, no more signal could be obtained.

Im gong to put the older LNB back on again, as it has a lot longer neck, so ill try to skew that again and i can move the dish closer or further away from the dish face, but im sure i tried that before.

He says for sure, that dish is line up fine, he tried 16 east, 7 west, 1 west, 30 west, 53 east, and couldn't get no more out of it, this is another reason why i want to go back to the older LNB, maybe the focal point is out, or the LNB needs to be closer to the dish, with the new LNB you cant move it in and out of the dish like the old one, but as i said, im pretty sure i did that before.

The other thing is have channel master dishes, over time gotten better, mine is really old 25 years at least, but he couldnt see any issues with the one i have, but did wonder if the newer ones have improved, like the older cars against the newer ones, in miles per gallon etc, they keep improving over time, other than that, im at a lost, he confirmed ber on 16 east SIC INTERNATIONAL channel was on his meter as well, which was direct into the LNB

My mistake for asking for a rear image as well.

It certainly is an interesting problem jason, my 1.2CM in use is well over 20yrs of age and the only thing iv'e done to it is to re-position the actual lnb holder and lnb pointing angle from original factory position using data supplied on the forum in a dedicated Channel Master dish topic. Focal point setting done using readings from an analyser and skew used to be motorised but not any more.
For a temp set-up , I'd be tempted to use / try a longer neck single lnbf with a fresh , good, short run of coax into a cheap signal meter and evaluate. The altering of the lnb holder position is more involved.

it wont be the dish age - however it could be warped, can CM's warp?
everything so far points to a smaller than specified dish, like a 1m CM
i dont know what would cause that - r u sure theres no damage to the dish face, or the rim?

Hi, for sure its a 1.2 metre dish, he measured it, it is 1.2 metres in the width 1.3 metres in length, he showed me with his tape measure.

I cant see any damage on the dish, and he didnt either, but i am being to think of getting a new dish face, this is really getting to me now, when it started it didnt bother me much, but over the weeks its getting on my nerves big time

If i could get a 1.2 channel master 2nd hand, that is something i might well think about.

Unless there obvious is damage I don't think it will make the slightest difference getting another dish face..SMC dishes such as Channel Master rarely mishape.
I would start to look elsewhere, the coax from the LNB to the VBox might worth being replaced for instance..or at least try a temporary length to compare.

As always in such cases (when banging head to the wall by not finding any reason...) ... check the cable going from the dish to the receiver in its entirety!
