anyone else could do on a 1.8 \ 2m would be useful

I'm slightly out of your size requirement with a 2.2 but you could knock off a few % to put you in the ballpark

Ah, the Aussie one - shame the shipping cost and import duties are about three times the amount of the feed, made for PF dishes btw.
Iv'e got the AV-Comm / ADL version hiding somewhere in the 'to do later' stock pile but they are a really heavy cast job - shame the Aussie ones are not more local to us in the UK/Eu or i would have given one a shot

Yes PF, that's what I have.

Performance wise yes maybe should be getting bit better but there are so many variables, difficult to be sure. more tweaking needed perhaps

ESPN I have seen as high as 11.5 dB, varies a bit during the day / weather conditions etc etc

Looks more like a 3G/4G tower than 5G which tend to be more like this:
View attachment 144410
It is somwhat odd that around here, many 3/4G masts are being installed, as though the providers are throwing objectors off the scent (at which point the top end will be replaced for the one above)

Annoyingly there is one 5G mast already in place just over a mile away to the SSW, and viewable from the roof.

Not guaranteed, there are two main variables.

1. Location in the UK
2. Make of dish

To the best of my knowledge @nelson_b is using a 2.4m channel master offset focus dish with a secondary focus on it.
@amdade is using a 2.4m Fortec Star prime focus petalised dish (the famous tin dish).

I would expect some variation in signal levels, even though both dish dimensions are listed as 2.4m.

@Manikm909
Why not have a scout around for a 2.4m Fortec Star tin dish, easy to transport and perform reasonably well in C-Band?
There are a few forum topics about how the tin man performs in C-Band. Users got pretty decent results with them considering the tin man has been slated in terms of its Ku performance.

Sub reflector removed currently, and standard 2.4 Channel Master arms and l.n.b holder fitted .... C band l.n.b. held in place with cable strap and tape ... for quick l.n.b change over to K/u or K/a .... :-)

Yes quite correct, Fortec Star petal painted steel. good for the price and has survived a few years now. It took a ride on the hurricane winds this winter, looks still OK, but a good chance I have bent it. replaced a support leg, metal paint in various places.... replaced bolts with SS ones... Works with some of the TP's on 43.1W which I thought was pretty good

I only use it for C-band, usually parked on 40.5W

I also have a 1.2m channel master which I use for Ku band, looking at the build quality difference Im not surprised nelson's getting better performance on his 2.4m CM. I would like one of those :-)

One other thing... The Fortec Star is carbon steel painted, not aluminium, means it is a heavy item. But for the price not much to loose

It is performing OK if it is locking frequencies from 43.1 West.
In my estimation 43.1W is one of the harder to get C-Band satellites in the UK for a decent number of locked frequencies.

Hmmmm indeed - ive been scratching my head since as something just wasn't right.
This might be relevant for @Manikm909 troublesome time with the ESPN tp - Eventually tracked the problem down to my Norsat PLL lnb. This has been giving good results with linear tp's but for some reason it was giving trouble with ESPN.
Anyway - after a lot of trying / changing different lnb's i ended up with our old friend the 'Astrotel Precision Gold' 15K DRO lnb - this gave me about a 2dB increase reading on the Promax to 12dB max and was a solid lock and viewable without drop out's from about 8dB upwards.
Other lnb's tried: Norsat DRO, better results than the PLL.
Gardiner 17K Mini lnb, works ok but similar to Norsat DRO lnb.
Iv'e got another mini BWEi DRO lnb with inbuilt 5G filter to try but i can't see it beating the 'Gold lnb.
All my swaps etc used the AliExpress External 5G filter before the test lnb.
So, @Manikm909 - might be worth trying a standard DRO lnbf as a test ??.

For scopus Chris: Can you remember when we bought those Astrotel Precision Gold lnb's a while back ? , just found the info/receipt in the box - December 2000 , Gordon Bennett

What dB are u pulling in on that VE plus channel ?

Hi .... because its too hot here to do anything else today ... i rolled out the 1.8 c.m. and set it up just outside my garage ..... just to have a play at 40.5 W C band .... currently using BSC 421 l.n.b. at center focus ... with home made plate .. its struggling with ESPN transponder today ? signal locked but floating above and below 9.5 db ... VE plus floating between 10.3 and 10.9 ... going to experiment with different l.n.b,s and positioning,s and scalar and plate variations on and off over the next few days .......
