I guess freesat populate their EPG channel name directly not from the ident on the TP then ?

If it is true that freesat have switched then I guess that puts to rest all the rumours about the spot beam being too wide :D
They dont read this forum then, which in this context is good!!!!!

He did have early knowledge about 1N starting up a few weeks ago, although some of the exact details turned out to be wrong.

Just a shame the site is so poorly designed what with all the different colours and font sizes - I cant read it for more than a couple of minutes without getting a splitting headache

Good news that 1N's presence at 28.2ºE is open ended then.

OK - so after all these weeks I got bored with waiting for Sky to map 140 onto Channel 4 HD on 1N. It is important here because on 2D we do not get the vertical TPs so we want to know if they come in from 1N. Instead I have set the default transponder on my Sky HD box to the 1N Channel 4 HD frequency. Normally if you set the default to an unreceiveable frequency the box ceases to function, but mine is still working !

Is this a good sign ?

I think it's the 8psk that it doesn't want to find unless it is told to by the EPG.
So no harm but it just won't pick it up until told to. (Another sky locked out feature)

I guess with that info we can all put these rumours to rest now and continue our 1N enjoyment!! We can assume then, from this info SES have given us, that 10994H will be the 12402V ITV bouquet of encrypted micro-regions too. I guess they'll want to get these up and running prior to Sky's EPG lock down which occurs around the middle of December if I'm not mistaken?? Anyone got an accurate date?

In effect it's the network freeze Sky (and Freesat) impose to prevent any changes over the Christmas period. It usually takes effect around the 15th-18th of Dec until about the 3rd January.

Not sure if it's been reported on here but Freesat have now re-mapped their EPG so C4HD is pointing at the new 1N feed, albeit still without any EPG data!! Hopefully they'll sort this today as all the listings are blank!

As M60 says Sky implement a 2 week epg update freeze over the Christmas & New Year period. This is because they have fewer technicians available to sort out any major problems. In the past even channels that have gone out of business have been left on the epg until the beginning of January

Hmmm. I was watching the programme on Alan Turing last night and I noticed a few times during the transmission there seemed to be a momentary loss of signal as if a dense cloud hd very quickly passed across the path.

Hope that it's not indicative of a new problem.

Transmission on 2D will be transferred on 1N (with same parameters) next year ....says rob
it makes sense to me ... why keep your new card in a garage, and drive your old one to work

I don't wish to take the thread off-topic but I understood that Spain, like France and the UK, has a land registry through which all transactions must be registered (and no doubt pay a fee for).

only for land that is registered that is any land that is built on or urbano, this land is rustico.a simple contract with two witnesses,ie a sheet of paper is ok.spàin is massive, with thousand of sq km of nothing.one of the problems here is land owned by people who left for south america in th 1930,and no one knows where they are...when they build new roads and the goverment take ov er the land they have pages and pages in local paper saying that so and so owns 25sq m of land last seen 1937....they then open a bank account for them, and put the money into it....

I asked a few weeks back whether we knew enough about 1N and its reception down here to suggest I could "safely" buy a new Humax freesat HD box to replacement my last one. I was advised to wait a bit longer. Can I assume from what we have discovered since that it is safe to go ahead? Thanks.

Gibertini 150 with an Inverto Black Ultra and a Pace 2600C1
My Location
Borlänge 200km WNW of Stockholm
I live in Sweden some 200 km NW of Stockholm.
I can now get the ITV's on 11053 H with 80% signalquality
on my Pace 2600 C1 with a 150cm Gibertini.
This is significantly better than 2D with around 40% signalquality.

Is the 11053 really on the UK spot beam?
