BLUEPLATINUM said:I can confirm from Gran Canaria that we are receiving both Horizontal and Vertical polarity from Astra 1N UK Spot beam (Channel 4 HD on TID:0x814 (2068) confirmed this afternoon). My equipment as described on the left. This is excellent news as it means we are getting better reception from 1N than we do from 2D (no verticals on 2D). If the information posted yesterday that SES plan to migrate all 2D frequencies to 1N is true then this is a fantastic result as at present we have no BBC HD channels.
BLUEPLATINUM said:Unlike the two more Northern islands of Las Palmas where 1.8m dishes can pull in some of the North beams only the South beams of 2A/2B and EB1 fixed beam can be pulled in here without going up to a 2.4m offset Channel Master or a 3.1m prime focus. This means there are virtually no existing installations with medium sized dishes on which to test. I am not quite sure how we will address this - maybe the local satellite installers will do some experimentation and we will shortly see adverts in the English language press giving a clue.
