This is the same signal I posted about yesterday afternoon, maybe with a bit of modulation on it, but it's a lot more active today.

@neilD

Yes, 23-26 Nov for the changeover is most likely (some earlier debate about it here) - notwithstanding the seemingly misleading PR from SES themselves!

I am guessing it will be next week when the switch over occurs. They should at least do some testing in its current position before the full switch-over, just like 1N did with Ch4.

She may well be in commercial service, has anyone checked for Ka band for broadband or other signals? Just because the "UK" guff aint started doesnt mean they`re not beaming anything down outside of the UK or on another band

-6dB here -> PE beam?
Needs to be a stable signal for any chance of use doing any sort of useful level comparison. Right now it is up and down like a yo-yo, so we are all going to be looking at different signal levels due to timing, rather than our locations.
From your coordinates I assume its not sent on the UK beam
Why would you assume that? 1N is a spot beam too (as anyone in Southern or Eastern Europe will confirm), and for us to get it here at similar power to a zone one minidish in the UK we need at least a 1.8m dish.

they will most likely carry out the switchover to 2F during the night. I think that's how they did it with 1N too...
although they might as well do it in the afternoon... programmes like Jeremy Kyle are dispensable if something goes wrong :-hammer

Under ideal conditions satellite switches are done overnight - it normally takes a few minutes to drop the carrier on the old bird and re-establish them on the new bird
