Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
And the doom and gloom period is upon us.

A POLAR storm will smash Britain kick-starting a six-week big freeze unleashing torrents of snow across the nation until Christmas, terrifying forecasts predict.

UK SNOW weather forecast: Polar storm to SMASH UK triggering 6-week FREEZE and HEAVY SNOW

Wool and foil underpants at the ready
I really hate to say this but the daily "Depress" looks to be quoting reliable sources for once (The Weather Channel 30-day forcast could be one)- sounds like 4 wheel drive vehicles "North of Watford" might a common requirement until Xmas (or beyond)!

The fires in California will of course cause untold doom around the planet until the particulates get rained into the ground, but the major event is the lack of sunspots for the past few months, which might give rise to a mini ice age, but not until late next year.

Currently as bald as a coot

WeatherAction’s Piers Corbyn said: “An active low-pressure system will move in from the northwest after the weekend bringing very cold Polar air in from the north.

This is the same Piers Corbyn (Jeremy's brother) that's been predicting 'snowmageddon' for the last umpteen years. There are posts on weather forums, relating to his prediction of a 'little ice age' dating back to 2012. I've read posts from meteorologists widely discrediting his forecasts and methodology.....but one year I guess he'll get it right..

There was already a cold snap earlier in the year. A major factor in the harvests this year owing the kill off of damaging pests and undesireable fungal and bacterial pestilence.

We could do with a few more.

Remember the holes which had bits of roof attached here? Well, the holes have been replaced with a new roof ready for the Winter storms..

A very wise "investment" IMHO - otherwise you might have had even more "holes with bits of roof attached" in the very near future:-clap

Are you going to ask him to rid your Hovercraft of Eels?
