Ohhhhhh - I need a lie down in a darkened room after that one. Stunning drive from JB but good points for Red Bull. Although not a Schumacher fan, I was sorry he couldn't get on the podium.

As you all know Im no Schumi fan but hes done good today. Still a rain master, good clean racing and some spectacular moves.

The incident with Webber was just one of those things that happens on the first corner in the rain.

Despite the long wait between the race I loved that. Some top driving especially JB. What is with Hamilton at the mo, It was the same at Monaco last time out, just far too aggressive and it's costing him big time.

Thought it was great when Martin Brundle said he didn't have time to wait in a queue to speak to Alonso, don't think there's any love lost there.:)

shame there is no beeb f1 forum. its probably one of the races that deserve a lot more analysis than the 5 minutes they gave it.

Not surprised to be honest - the whole spectacle has run for nearly double the supposed transmission time :D

According to Jake its the longest F1 race in history - and on the FIA site the official race time is 4hrs 4 mins!!

My fav moment? Seeing Massa spin off trying to pass one of the Hopeless HRT's made me smile but it has to be Jens taking the flag after a cracking race.

Having got home from work I can write up the league stats.

Despite the absolute mayhem on track we have 5 teams who scored over 100 points, including a fantastic 117 for Norm with F1Aberdeen. :-worship

The other ton scorers are

107 - Piston Broke - wobbles
104 - Scotborders F1 - Analoguesat yah!! :D
104 - Equipe Etranger - sonnetpete
101 - Toppers Tossers - Topper

Kudos to the 6 people who got bonus points for the lap time predictions -

4 - Norm Macrae
4 - Toppers Tossers
4 - Blatherskite
4 - rick
4 - ahem - ScotBordersF1
1 - sonnetpete

Norm did a fantastic job of predicting the lap time - only 2 thousandths of a second off!

actual - 1:16.957

predicted - 1:16.955

score - 4.99 out of a possible 5.00. (which is rounded down to the full number)

Next race - 2 weeks time - Valencia

If you want to read the official FIA stewards report on the meeting you can find them here:

F1 Media Centre Home Page

Then click on On-Event Information

The reports on the race infractions were up yesterday which made interesting reading

Congrats to Norm for displacing my unexpectedly long lead in our League. Ali G's mate really bu**ered it up for me, but at least the stress is off! Easier to chase than be chased.

I saw it in our hol. property in Murcia ...................... only a 1.3m dish, but decent reception on 2D most of the time. Didn't risk losing it at the wrong moment so did the BBC News > Red Button > Sports Interactive ploy.

It was 23.30 over there before I could turn off the telly!

Truly stunning stuff from JB who keeps proving the nay-sayers wrong. LH has lost the plot, however. If he does go to Red Bull, he and boy wonder (the other one) can play Bumper Cars.

If they were both in the same team I'd give them a max of three races before they had each other off. I don't think there's a team big enough to handle a team leader and Hamilton's ego atm. I do hope he matures and calms down as he's too good a driver to conduct himself like this.

(hope you had a nice hols btw)

Midfield anonymity for me - just what the Doctor ordered after the stress and strain of surging into an early Season lead. It seems my Diffuser is now blown.

Oh dear - I seem to be stuck in second gear in qualifying. Im pottering around down the nether end of the field 5th from the back :-rofl2

Kudos to wobbles for scoring an impressive 25 points in qualifying, and is the highest qualifying points of anyone in our league so far this season.

That was tedious!

I do hope it is going to be cool and/or wet at Silverstone.

Yes, not exactly enthralling but maybe we expect too much after the start to the season we've had. Let's just hope it's a blip.

some good battles in mid to rear of the field tho, better than previous valencia races.....
and all 24 cars finsihed..helped by Hamilton not punting anyone off for a change...!

this was only third f1 race in history with no retirements - the others were Holland '61 and Monza '05

Well Valencia 2011 was a bit of an improvement on Valencia 2010 - but not by much.

Last time out in waterlogged Canada we had the longest race in F1 history at over 4 hours, this time we have the highest number of finishers - all 24 cars made it home.

In the league Norm scores the only ton - and the 109 extends his lead. Rookie Rick & wobbles scored 97, with pro-drive & sonnetpete the only other folk to break 90.

So overall positions:

1) F1Aberdeen - Norm
2) AntHill Mob - Tivu
3) Ricks Revvers - (Rookie) Rick
4) Tossers - Topper
5) Burnin Rubber - BR
