Just noticed that only 6 teams have gotten involved in the Sats League Constructors Championship. Im guessing this is scored by adding the two teams scores. If you don't choose a partner the system will do it for you at the end of the season.

So far we have

1. ScotBordersF1 (147) / Ricks Revvers (166) = 313
2. Toppers Tossers (136) / Equipe Etranger (108) = 244
3. Honda - Williams (102) / Outcast (48) = 150

Why not buddy up and get in on the action

Well, what a cracking GP!!!!

Fantastic drive by Hamilton but respect to Webber, if ever a podium place was deserved, it was today.

Great entertainment, brilliant driving and let's also give credit to the powers that be for tweaking the DRS zone so it was neither useless nor too generous.

Agreed about the DRS zone change, but how come Alonso's opened 'out of zone'? If DRS is 'enabled' within certain limits, surely it's 'disabled' out that zone? Unless, Senor Alonso has found a way round this.......How unlike him to seek an unfair advantage.

Great Race.

Good solid performances from Red Bull and Mclaren, especially Webber and Hamilton. Ferrari seemed a little closer to the pace this race, but what about Mercades, they really got a great setup for that track.

Di Resta had another great race, hard to believe thats his third GP.

Yes very good race with a lot quite unpredictable, I have to also congratulate Mark Webber for a sterling drive from 18th place on the grid but yes Paul Di Resta is certainly the one to watch, first three races in an F1 car and his experience gained from 3 years in DTM is showing. It is hard to remember that when he was last in single seaters he beat Sebastian Vettel

Nice to see I got some decent points this race, keep looking in your mirrors

Don't forget his cousin is Dario Franchitti, past Indycar champion and Indy 500 winner. When I was wrenching/timekeeping for a friend, racing Formula Ford in the mid 70's I can remember chatting regularly with their fathers, George Franchitti and Louis Di Resta as they were also F Ford drivers (albeit at the wrong end of the grid along with my mate).

You had a good race, qualifying on pole and taking top spot on the podium. Five points ahead of anyone else this race. Certianly not to be sniffed at.

I'm in the DRS window now Tivu, just 1 point behind ;)

I think you will find I was only 4th in qualifying Kleefar Rolf and Norm were ahead of me

Not until I can afford to change him LOL

BTW Is that AS on pole? He's on holiday isn't he?? In Malaysia??? (really, the lengths some people will go to just to win a fantasy league)

Blimey was I on pole? I was in Cyprus getting friendly with Keo lager, Cypriot brandy, and exploring as much of the western corner as possible :D

Well, someone must have got hold of that KERS disabling device as Mark Webber didn't seem to be able to use his on Sunday. Anyway, hope you had a great time in Cyprus!!

There is a strapline across the bottom of Sky News that says "News Corp in inital talks with partners about a possible F1 bid!"

Another cop out from Sport by Auntie, I fear.

I have read recently that BBC don't have their heart and soul in F1 coverage - which is a pity as they have done a great job. Even Spare Head 3 is proving a good foil for Brundle in the Comm Box.

God help us if F1 is lost to Pay TV.

Will Bernie stand for it?

Look what's happened to audiences figures for Cricket. Nose dive.

True, but then over 5 million tuned into the last race..so what will bernie want, money from pay tv or exposure for the sponsors...?
Cricket needed the money...and is less reliant on the number of individual team sponsors for exposure...
Hope we dont get "Monday Nite Racing with Jeff Stelling", or 100 cameras on each car to cover every possible angle for each car,

I read somewhere that the BBC execs liked the fact they got the F1 contract, but its the money and resources required for sending out the crew for each race that is a drain...

Spare Head 3 - :-rofl2!!!!!

Has anyone actually heard a report on this? I initially thought the same, that they were going after the TV rights, but it could also be News Corp forming a F1 team (unlikely). Or News Corp launching a takeover for Bernies F1 company. That's more likely but if successful would naturally bring about the first conclusion.

Right now Im back off holiday lets make some league observations from the last 2 races.

So after race 2 - Malaysia

dazdazdazzy topped the points charts with 91 for BTTR and rookie Rick was second with the Revvers scoring 86. Tivu found his stride with 78 for the Ant Hill Mob and then all teams down to 11th followed with 70 or more points.

One interesting statistic is that sonnetpete guessed the fastest lap to within 2 one hundredths of a second and scored 4.98 bonus points (rounded down to 4 on the tables).

My team took the honours during qualifying - the 10 bonus points for correctly guessing two qualifying positions came in very handy :)
