And race 3 - China. I caught the last 20 laps of this one in a taverna in Polis in Cyprus :D

Toppers Tossers scored an impressive 81 with kleefar, burnin rubber, and the Revvers closely chasing TT's down on 76.

And so to the standings after 3 races. Tivu's Ant Hill Mob is leading the championship with 243, Ricks Revvers are making a fabulous start for a rookie just one point behind, and dazdazdazzy, Norm McRae and Oily within 12 points.

All very exciting so far, and remember the next race is 3 weeks away so you have plenty of time to think about your strategy and tweaks to the team. Also there is a bit more money available as well so think about how to build the team for the ultimate success :D

One interesting statistic is that sonnetpete guessed the fastest lap to within 2 one hundredths of a second and scored 4.98 bonus points (rounded down to 4 on the tables).

Blimey, did I really?? Well, at least I was good at one thing this season!!

Has anyone actually heard a report on this? I initially thought the same, that they were going after the TV rights, but it could also be News Corp forming a F1 team (unlikely). Or News Corp launching a takeover for Bernies F1 company. That's more likely but if successful would naturally bring about the first conclusion.

_http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Business/Formula-One-News-Corp-In-Talks-About-Possible-F1-Takeover-Skys-Mark-Kleinman-Learns/Article/201104315975636

The creation of a consortium that would buy F1 is understood to be only one of several options that News Corp is examining.

It may decide not to attempt to acquire a direct stake in F1's owner but instead bid for the broadcast rights, Kleinman reported.
So it may aquire the rights, then sell them on to individual broadcasters...or keep them for themselves.....?

Hadn't even looked at 'our' grid LOL (was mowing the lawn and deciding whether to make two or three stops)

The 'talking heads' were on good form today. David 'Kriton' Coultard tried to christen Heidfield 'Knocker' and the Bearded Bard of Ballybefuddled did an excellent job of brown nosing Kobayashi, who looked decidedly embarrased. Plus we have the mysterious 'magic paddle'.

Well when you let the reigning champion past on the left hand side just make sure you don't let others through at the same time

I can see the updated results Tivu - refresh your browser.

Well an impressive lights to flag victory for Vettel, with Webber never too far behind. Alonso finally showed he isnt flogging a dead (prancing) horse and finished a creditable third.

Further down Heidfield and Petrov bought the beautiful black & gold Renaults home 7th & 8th with Kobi having a fabulous race to 10th having started 24th. Once again the cheating Kraut showed he should hang his F1 helmet up and stick to banger racing. He finished a distant 12th and was the last unlapped car.

In the league my ScotbordersF1 team scored the highest number of points - 94 with sonnetpete close behind on 91. Four other teams scored over 80 points.

So the standings are:

Ant Hill Mob - Tivu leads on 326
Norm's F1Aberdeen have 319
Ricks Revvers are on 314
ScotbordersF1 then leads a close pack of four - SBF1 / Team Oily / Toppers Tossers & BetterThanTheRest all with scores of over 300.

Theres atill plenty of the season left so dont forget to tweak your teams before the next race in a fortnight. Nobody is so far behind that a couple of inspired changes and lucky results cant propel you right up the table :)

Well done AS!

I agree, it was another exciting race. Isn't it about time Kobi was offered a drive in a competitive car?

I was quite pleased with my result....now if only I could get KERS working.....

Or in my case, changes that can propel me firmly down the table................

I tell you, it's blotty uncomfortable being a lucky leader. Wing mirrors highly polished!

Apropos of not a lot, but vaguely On Topic, I am currently reading the Sunday Times (Yes, yes, a Murdoch rag) Business Section and there is a picture of James Hunt celebrating winning the 1977 US Grand Prix by sitting on the side of his Monocoque smoking a fag.

How times have changed.
