Hi all. Me and bronking, well just bronking actually, used the appliance of science to enter a 'hypothetical' team to the league, comprising of Kimi and Alonso, Renault, and the back end drivers, just to see whether there was anything in the argument that such an 'idiot=proof' team could get high in the standings. Although they have yet to score any points, if they had been entered from the start of the season proper, they would have scored 64 points = 2nd place:-ohmy ! So keep an eye out for the test team!

The new code to make changes prior to the European GP on May 7th is EXHAUST (teletext page 597).

Remember that limitations on changes are now in operation, so check for that on the Teletext website for all the relevant details.

Hava a look at my team, this is what I had in mind when setting it up: Alonso, Raikonen , Button and heidfeld, the rest are lawnmower racing material :) . And I am n 2cd place...:D

Super Aguri have announced that Franck Montagny will race for the team in this weekend’s European Grand Prix. Montagny will replace Yuji Ide, who will now participate in test days only for the Japanese squad.
spacer.gif
Ide has struggled to get to grips with Formula One racing in his debut season, and his replacement by former Renault tester Montagny follows advice from the sport’s governing body, the FIA.

“We accept the advice offered by the FIA to allow Yuji to accrue the mileage he requires to improve in Formula One during our testing days only,” said team principal Aguri Suzuki. “The team has made every effort to ensure that Yuji settled into his new F1 surroundings and I think that he has coped incredibly well under the circumstances.

“I wish that I could have given Yuji more time in the car before the start of the season, but with the team being put together so rapidly we were unable to allow him the proper testing that he should have experienced. I will continue to look after Yuji's interests and support his continuing efforts within the team, including his path back to a Formula One race seat. As a result, Franck Montagny will drive for us in the second race seat at the European Grand Prix.”

Montagny was scheduled to run as Super Aguri’s third driver at the Nurburgring. The Frenchman's last Grand Prix appearance was as Jordan's third driver at last year's European round.

I'm presuming that those of us who have Ide in our team will now be replaced by Montagny. If my memory serves me correct, Montagny drove for France in A1GP, and he wasn't that bad (well, it must be hard to bo worse than Ide!).

Been to a race in Silverstone in 2000, was OK. Nice to go once, but too expensive.
But this is first time I see qualifying...

Great finish to qualifying today, with a last minute shootout between the champion Alonso, and the legend Michael Schumacher. It was the man from Spain who took pole, Schumi claiming second on the grid, with Ferrari teammate Massa in 3rd. Rubens Barrichello out-qualified Honda teammate Jenson Button (6th) for the first time this season, 4th on the grid. McLaren driver Kimi Raikkonen (5th) and Juan Pablo Montoya (9th) looked less than impressive, while Sauber-BMW pilot Jacques Villeneuve had a great Saturday afternoon, gaining 8th on the grid. Renault racer Giancarlo Fisichella repeated the bad form of San Marino, qualifying out of the top 10 in 11th.

Please also note that while they qualified in 10th and 12th respectively, Williams teammates Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg both changed engines, and so incur a 10 place relegation on the grid (http://www.formula1.com/race/news/4319/755.html). As a result, the Toro Rosso pilot Liuzzi finds himself in with another great chance of a points finish tomorrow, with 14th on the grid.

Michael Schumacher continues the Ferrari fight back, with a 2nd consecutive victory in at the Nurburgring. The German's Italian engine looked superior to the French Renault of Alonso, who although leading for the majority of the race, was undone by effective Ferrari tactics. Massa finished in 3rd, capping another good performance, while Kimi Raikkonen had another quite weekend (4th). Barrichello completed a great meet (5th), in stark contrast to Jenson Button, who retired midway through, and whose title hopes look died already. Others to suffer a miserable race were Montoya, Coulthard, and Webber. Rosberg (7th) returned to early form, while Fisichella improved on grid position, ending in 6th.

Drivers' Championship - http://www.formula1.com/archive/driver/2006.html

Michael Schumacher (31pts) closes the gap to Fernando Alonso (44pts), while Massa enters the top 5, tieing with Montoya on 15pts.

Constructors' Championship - http://www.formula1.com/archive/team/2006.html

Renault continue to lead the championship (62pts), but Ferrari (46pts) leapfrog McLaren (38pts) into 2nd spot.

In SuperLiga, 'Speedy Devils' install themselves at the top with 101pts. The 'pipjacks' raise to 2nd from 3rd (91pts), dropping 'IG Racing' to 3rd (83pts). 'Wolfs bangers' maintain 4th (70pts), while Tom34 (5th - 69pts) swap places with 'Dragonigen' (6th - 67pts).

You must have picked the race winner again! - that seems to put you further down the league the way it works - :-doh!

I have Schumi, who won 'again', and I'm in the same boat!

I'll forget the World Cup one...

How did you manage to get Alonso, Schumacher and four other drivers for $60 million?

If you'd picked Fisichella and Liuzzi in place of Webber and Sato you'd be at the top of the ITV league!

Well done...
