I must warn you that I might take a while (when dont I?) to post qualifying and race reports, as of course my main focus will be the World Cup, but I am Sky+'ing both and I will watch them before I post, I like to know what I'm talking about :)! Looks like I'm gonna be up late this weekend!

Webber and Button fail to progress past first knockout round at Silverstone. Trulli blew up on his hot lap so hes out too.

On the opening weekend of the World Cup, the Formula 1 World Championship delivered drama of it’s very own in qualifying in Silverstone, with some big names knocked out in the first session. Included was Brit Jenson Button (19th), whose one-run strategy prevented him from saving himself from the back of the grid. The other high profile dropouts were Mark Webber (17th), and Jarno Trulli (22th - mechanical failure).

More controversy followed in the second session when Red Bull pilot David Coulthard filed a complaint with the race stewards against Juan Pablo Montoya, who he accussed of deliberately holding him up on a hot lap, resulting in him dropping out just outside the top 10 final session in 11th.

In the final session, Alonso and Michael Schumacher continued their ongoing duel, this time with the Renault driver being victorious in the fight for pole position on the grid. However, it was the title challenger of last season, Kimi Raikkonen, who provided the Spanish champion with an added boost, when he amazingly took 2nd away from Schumi after barely making it across the line before the end of the session on his out lap. Other noted performances are that of Ruben Barrichello (6th), Ralf Schumacher (7th), and the two Sauber-BMW drivers, Nick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve (9th and 10th).

Fernando Alonso continued his march to the title with an overwhelming victory at Silverstone, leading the entire race for all but one lap, and ending over 13 seconds ahead of Michael Schumacher. The Ferrari driver gained second place from McLaren pilot, Kimi Raikkonen, who finished 3rd, a solid podium place in a disappointing season. Giancarlo Fisichella (4th) continues his recent rise in form, ahead of Felipe Massa in 5th. Montoya (6th) came in followed by the Sauber-BMW pair of Heidfeld and Villeneuve (7th and 8th) – a good weekend for the German outfit, while Nico Rosberg (9th) was just outside the points.

In a fairly uneventful race, the early retirement of Jenson Button did little to cheer up the British crowd.

Drivers' Championship - http://www.formula1.com/archive/driver/2006.html

Although Alonso increases his lead at the top (74pts), Schumi (51pts) stays within range of the Spaniard.

Constructors' Championship - http://www.formula1.com/archive/team/2006.html

Renault (106pts) extend their lead from Ferrari (75pts), while McLaren (59pts) are left further in the distance.

Full Story - http://www.formula1.com/race/news/4485/758.html

In SupaLiga, ‘Speedy Devils’ (207pts) increase their lead over ‘pipjacks’ (185pts) by 10pts, while ‘Wolfs bangers’ (4th – 149pts) reduce the deficit on 3rd placed ‘IG Racing’ (151pts) to just 2pts.

Much reordering went on in the chasing pack, with ‘Tom34’ (145pts) jumping from 7th to 5th, and ‘F1 Aberdeen’ (137pts) from 9th to 6th, as ‘bronking buckos’ (134pts) fall from 6th to 7th, ‘Draconigen’ (132pts) 5th to 8th, and ‘Honda/Williams’ (10th - 128pts) fall behind rising ‘Team Carros (9th – 130pts).

But the sad news is that of the fall of the second victim to the ‘hypothetical team’ (99pts)… my very own ‘Super25’ team (95pts)!!! Bloody Jenson Button!!!

NEXT GRAND PRIX... CANADIAN GRAND PRIX at GILLES VILLENEUVE CIRCUIT, MONTREAL... JUNE 25TH...

This season has been another big disappointment for me.

Little or no overtaking at the front, pit stops determining results.

F1 will lose if this continues, don't know how you fix it.

The drivers is no longer the most important factor, cars are more reliable so breakdowns are rare.

Tyres, engine changes, fuel, tactics and pit stops are now much more important.

Let's face it only Ferrari and Renault have the cars to do the job, must be so frustrating for the other drivers.

Next season when Alonso leaves Renault may be more exciting.

Didn't realize that I should report any changes, sorry.
I kicked Montoya and got M. Schumacher on board.
I think that was before the Monaco Grand Prix.

yeah, you can change the players that are in ur squad from game to game, as they only score you points if they are active.

The parade that is Fernando Alonso’s second world title continues, with yet another pole position in Canada, his fifth in-a-row. The revitalised Giancarlo Fisichella did, however, nearly out-qualify his Renault team mate, securing a front-row lockout for the French outfit.

Kimi Raikkonen got his weekend off to a good start with 3rd on the grid, and Jarno Trulli sensationally denied Michael Schumacher a 4th placed start tomorrow, the German instead finds himself in 5th, while the sister Ferrari of Felipe Massa could only manage 10th. Nico Rosberg also had a great Saturday, 6th on the grid, although he upset many with his apparent holding up of others, including fellow Williams driver Mark Webber, who was the big casualty of the 1st qualifying session (17th).

Honda partners Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello were 8th and 9th respectively, with McLaren pilot Juan Montoya just ahead in 7th, and homeboy Jacques Villeneuve was placed a disappointing 11th.
