It would be so useful if these updates were available over the internet when you switch on... ie the receiver says updates are available.

The update by internet is not active.
the only current way is by USB.

When you see the problems have some owners of U2C Denys
who can make updates through the internet, I think it's best to stay with the update by USB.
These are problems that require to use RS232 /minijack 3.5 to be resolved.

It's really not complicated with a USB and this avoids the risks of Internet outages.

One of the firmware updates recently added a very updated satellite list, including all C, Ku and Ka satellites.
This needed a factory reset to enable itView attachment 111034

I did see this and download the software, reset the box, reset to the default da TR abase and rebooted. Not sure why it did not work for me but the satellite remained as before!

Weird...Did you do a factory reset? Sounds like you did. Worked OK for me.

As previously discussed, the box was originally aimed at the German market, but has sold far more widely than that.

Ok, I can understand why the additional cost of a DD+ licence was not originally considered necessary as German Channels don't make use of it but, in reality, Octagon are cutting off their nose to spite their face as there must be more than just thee and me who'd happily buy if they had a change of heart.

I am a supporter of DD+, but I am used to handle difficulties..... ;)

with DNLA server I can even accept to watch it on a TV/PC/smartphone.

What they need to implement with a very low cost, and more or less is the same:

1) double audio on Multistream
2) subtitles on Multistrem/t2-mi (font for cyrillic too)
3) ability to change channel on DNLA , I have to switch them on decoder;
4) when the decoder is in fast version (always on) channels should work, but in my decoder only recorded files work.

The SX88 has been developed for the Slavic and Germanic market, and there's this French package that emits with this standard.

Update: loaded new software and reset to factory as well as to default channel database. Amended satellite database, not there, just the one I initially changed one satellite in.

Purtroppo ho un proiblema con sx88 disecq 1.2 il mnotore non si muove oppure va su altre direzioni, leggendo il post di stephan, andyx e william 1 sembra che hanno risolto il problema. Vi sarei grato se potreste scrivere ulteriori informazioni su come settare i satelliti e la numerazione. Chiaramente con il Clarke tech 4100 non ho problemi con il motore. Grazie un saluto a tutti

I bought this Octagon sx88 which I find great even considering the value for money. Unfortunately I have a proiblema with sx88 disecq 1.2 the cursor does not move or goes to other directions, reading the stephan post, andyx and william 1 seem to have solved the problem. I would be grateful if you could write more information on how to set satellites and numbering. Clearly with the Clarke tech 4100 I have no problems with the engine. Thanks a lot to everyone

The oscam-emu bundled in the image is quite old, r741. An updated build with r752 would be appreciated.

At the same time, it would be great if this gxapi's 0x81 private descriptor in the capmt was injected with actual values for onid, tsid, namespace instead of 00's.

Other satellites at this end of the arc can be added as & when they become active.

If an editor does not materialise then I will have to use EW5A C band so that I can fit in Bulgariasat @ 1.9 east & shuffle the satellites around 3 east to 5 west.

It will not work with DiSEqC 1.2 as mentioned in this thread that is why I used DiSEqC 1.3 USALS,
So have another go at making your channel list.

Thanks for the answer, so confirm me that the octagon sx88 has picks with disecq 1.2? Hopefully, they fix it with the next firmware. Now I've deleted the entire sat list I'm trying to manually insert satellites and frequencies. Hello

DNLA is working well, but could you fix:

- ability to change channels from the list, I have to do it on decoder first!;
- subtitles and double audio on T2-mi and multistream?
