My Satellite Setup
OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

I had a pass of the NINJASAT but forgot that I was on the NOAA antenna, I don't think that antenna will work too good on 402 MHz, and it's way too hot outside to switch over to the discone.

I will probably have to wait for a directly overhead pass (or close to it) to try and see if that antenna can handle it or not.

On this pass of NOAA-19 it went right overhead, what I saw in the display was a side-band signal at 137.14 MHz, it was modulating, but looking at the web info for that bird I don't see anything listed for that frequency for any type of data downlink. 0n 19. A harmonic maybe??

NOAA-19 pass 1a.jpg

Nice clean audio on this pass.

Its the right orientation :)

The UK is just left of centre under all the rain. The fjords of Norway are clear as are the Dutch islands stretching north then east from the Amsterdam area.

22/7/24 1420utc Met 2-4 on a 78 degree pass to the west of me, northbound.

A most impressive swirl of low pressure up to the north of the UK! As usual it as received apart from trimming the dead signals off & rotating the image around.

A very nice pass on Meteor M2-4 today, here is the RGB composite.

This is un-cropped.

And on a further note, the NINJASAT passes were tracked with several different SDR software's, nothing is coming down as far as I can tell, if there's any type of modulation I couldn't tell, or demodulate.

A lovely day across much of the UK. Not in Scotland - it was drizzling this afternoon when I was out & about near Kelso!

Ok, my satdump crashing problem is back, nothing has changed on the computer that I can tell, I do see an error log on the program in the windows system logs but they are meaningless to me, if I post the error code here would anyone have an idea on what may be going on?

Or should I post it elsewhere?

I was beginning to think that I had a problem with Satdump settings.Recently I have been getting nothing but >cadu 555 Byte files.Today out of the blue a good scan turns up.Admittedly there have been a lot of pass clashes with the NOAAs.

Yeah post it here - we might be able to decipher something from it.

OK kids, here is a weird scan from M2-4, this was done yesterday afternoon.

No other satellites around, and the pass was almost right overhead.

Ive got two like that today - remember M2-4 is still in testing & commissioning mode so odd things can happen as they calibrate & test it.

However back to normal later in the day

Met 2-4 1550utc pass. 20 degree elevation west, northbound.

Greenland centre top, the western part of the UK extreme right. Look at that low pressure swirl & structure!

@Terryl Ive been having a look at those error codes you posted. Satdump seems to have been crash happy in the past when TLE's cant load.

It might be worth going back to an earlier version you know is stable on your system & see if its still occurring.

If it was a TLE update problem (as described in that web page) then it would/should be doing it everyday, what do you have your TLE update set to?

Mine is everyday, but I don't have the crashes everyday, only at random times.

Fair enough. Mine is set to update daily.

What I have seen occasionally in the past is a bad ram stick causing unexpected crashes.

Im running v1.1.4 atm as 1.2.0 wouldnt load properly on my wxsat computer last time I tried it. - I kept getting file errors when launching it.
