The sun is shining here today, although not much time for dish tinkering today - off oop north to Perth for an overnighter later on.

Beautiful city Perth. I stopped overnight there,i was only passing through but i wish i'd have had time to check it out properly. Stopped in the caledonian hotel, the biggest hotel room i've ever had -twas bigger than my bungalow square footage. And it was only £70 !!!

Quite warm here. About 25C been few days and earlier today in lappland (north) was 31.3C. Beginning of the next week also here in south Finland forecast says 30C

Seems our allotment got broken into the other day, aswell as several others, though we didn't leave anything for the scrotes to steal, it is annoying that they cut my padlock off... )(-red

At least the allotment committee says they'll replace the broken locks on all the plots who got broken into, so we're not out of pocket padlockwise, it's just damned annoying...

What a lovely day. Had a slow run back from Perth this afternoon via the back lanes of Tayside & the eastern Lothians seeing some of the less salubrious parts around Cowdenbeath on the way!

That was quite an alarming headline. Much of northern Russia is undergoing a similar heatwave. Finland may also have a defrosted 'just dead' mammoth soon.

I took a trip up to the allotment yesterday afternoon to assess the damage, which there wasn't any aside from the missing padlock, but it's getting seriously overgrown with nettles, and I hate nettles...... 'O'-red

Still, I put on another padlock, dug out the rat traps (which had remains of rats in them, jaw in one, spine in the other, those things are cannibals!!), forgot the peanut butter so didn't re-set them, and wandered off home after locking up...

Was nice and warm up there though, shame there's no deck chairs up there to relax in...

Yup. Just been out to Ripon to get SWMBO's Car MoT Tested and while it was being done I toddled off for a walk by the river.

Really lovely, with all the wild flowers, the pleasant smell of wild garlic, birds of many varieties singing gaily (And that gayness is of the innocent type that still prevails despite the addition of other meanings in recent years).

A perfect day for pottering in the garden, getting the grass cut etc
