Some strong winds this morning - I found I'd lost my Iranian tp off 55E - a quick look at the Triax showed I hadnt done any of the bolts up tight enough & it was well off :D

Yaroo!

Just had the daddy of all cloudbursts here - been threatening for hours, but when it came it came with a real bang. And plenty of flashes. And an infinite amount of cats and dogs.

My daughter lives in York, but fortunately just beyond the usual "at risk" parts.

I have been intending to revisit York for some time but something all ways comes up. I hope they don't decide to 'gentrify' everything with plasticy crap before I get there.

The seals on some of my Hardwood Windows showed their inflexibility last night - two rooms on the "weather side" had slight leaks and our Bedroom window converted itself into a shower.

No lasting harm, though but.

Went out to indulge in a spot of Campanology this afternoon and had the foresight to pack a Brolly. Good choice! It's almost pitch black round here right now.

Somewhat foggy here today, looking from the house across the Vale of Mowbray (Yes, we have Pork Pies too).

And last evening there were around 40 Swallows lined up on the overhead leccy and phone cables in the village. Not there this morning ....................... wonder if they've checked in for their flight home?

Well I do not know how a few miles can make such a difference, yesterday evening we had a stroll to the local Wilpshire train station and met up with friends, took the train to Clitheroe and had a pleasant but expensive meal out with plenty of drink to wash it down, walked back to the station caught the train home walked back home from the station after a swift nightcap in a local hostelry, it was warm and pleasant weather all evening, oh and the sun is currently shining

Its starting to get a bit autumnal up here - theres a nip in the air in the mornings, and we have had a couple of misty drives down the road into work.

Before we know it I'll be starting up the winter batten down the hatches thread :-ohmy

Lovely here too.

Yesterday was cereal crop Harvest day and we had tractors and stuff whizzing up and down all day.

We had that two or three weeks ago. The fields were ploughed over and then seeded yesterday. Possibly with grass seed for grazing as it may be a bit early to sow with overwinter cereal again.......and that's all from Chez Ambridge....dum di dum di diddle di dum........
