Well ...I'm really pleased with todays events ...
Just that one capture has made me believe this card was worth getting ..
More fun to come ...I hope ..
Once the hardware compatibility issues are sorted ..
If anyone finds any updates or answers to my diseqc 1.1 multiswitch problem ...please let me know ..
That for me is the most pressing problem now ...as its limiting me to Cband atm..

Is the channel Fox News? If so we can see if theres regional differences and work out what the actual purpose of it is for. I believe it's a number of things. 1. Reporters on the go. 2. MobileTV or 3. For some provider to monitor.

I'm inclined to go with option 2 or 3 ..
The fact that the adverts are broadcast ...would indicate its for end users ..

You'd think so but no. In America they use the commercials as a sort of... "cue" of the time they have until they come on air. That's why it's rare to find a commercial free feed for reporters in the US.

Hello Vipersan,

I know, but which codecs do you use. Look at my device for "Direct X" on DVBViewer. Can you make screenshot of your "Direct X" device? Than I can check this and use same codes!

Btw. your attached Video-file works quite fine on my VLC media player.

Best regards
qwer.

btw ..I suspect its possible they're using a variation on 4.2.2 ....so possibly enabling elecard might get results ..
If its already in your system.

Ah, you use Etymonix MPEG-2 Video Decoder.

Oh, I see, it´s not in my device list as registered filter under DVBViewer.

Thanks, Vipersan!

VLC media player tries to render video stream, but it crashs down after a while.

Best Regards
qwer.

Ive been reading this thread for sometime now, initially with a interest in watching 422 feeds, i now see the card can do so much more! So ive ordered one. for me this will be a journey into the unknown as ive never used a computer to watch tv. im going to use a oldish computer( cpu 2.8ghz, 2gb of ram) running xp at the mo. connected by hdmi cable to a 26" tv. my technomate 6800 will control the dish. thanks to you all for the info so far, (ive made loads of notes).

Hi Edgar ..

approx £12

Possibly for rebroadcast over mobile networks?

I wondered this too, VSs screengrab in #196 shows the image size as 352x240 to further support the mobile theory.

Hi friends ..
spent many hours searching the net for an all singing all dancing dvbs stream analyser ..
Can anyone recommend a suitable piece of software to do this ..?

What I'm after is an application which can be fed directly from the stream ....or indeed a recorded sample of ts stream which might carry multiple streams ..
then analyse that stream reporting what it contains ...and have the ability to take apart /demux that stream ...either live or sampled...?

It would appear such software exists at proffesional levels ..but is wayyyy too pricey for my piggy bank.

I realise I'm asking a lot as it would have to be able to handle all forms of data stream ..sd ..hd ..mpg2 ...h264...and no doubt some I haven't even considered.

Just curious if such a thing exists ..professional level ...but for amateur use.

Or am I shooting for the moon ?

I'm still a novice at this sort of process yet ..so advice is always welcome.

Edgar showed a multi stream content in an earlier post ...but how is this done ? ...and can such a stream be demuxed ?

Doh!! ..
I'm excited by the possibilities ...but my head hurts with this new learning curve.
off for some ZZZs ..
g'nite folks

TSReader will do most if not all of what you require VS. The lite version has some restrictions, but is free.

_http://www.tsreader.com/legacy/

Ideal for use with this card, as you can stream from the Monitor - TSReader - VLC.

There is a version between Lite and Pro, for $99. Will handle most things you can throw at it.

Isn't it another $29 every year then to keep using it?

What is the big plus on the long trusted TransEdit?
