Hi Friends ..
Just completing my second scan of AB3 5 West in Cband..
The first scan was set with 2mhz steps ...
I was a bit confused as to why EBS totally missed channels/transponders I know I can receive ..
So ..
I scanned again ...this time with 1 mhz steps ..
Sure enough ..the missing channels were found on this pass ..
It just goes to show that a thorough scan to pick up channels with low sr's is needed ..or you could end up missing threshold stuff ..

Its painfully slow ..but is extremely thorough at this level..

Found this really odd one. It switches between QPSK, 8PSK and 32APSK within seconds few seconds with bit-rate varying between modulations.

7e 12552 7200 H

I tried to see what I could do with a transport stream rip and VLC seems to think there is some AC3 audio inside but I hear a few clicks and pops and that's it.

REALLY ODD.

..something has changed since yesterday ...
Crazyscan no longer invoking the analyser..
I've tried reconnecting using the following syntax 'TSReader_TCP %ip% %port%' in the dialog popup box ..
Also tried inserting the values 'TSReader_TCP %127.0.0.1% %6969%

..but all it does is pop up an error message....see attached image ..

Not sure what has changed ..
If I run up the analyser prior to streaming from crazyscan ..
TS sees the stream ok ...
It just wont auto initialise ?
obviously something has gone wrong ..
just not sure what.
can anyone help.
?

I think there should be a -s before the various parameters.

-s TSReader_TCP %ip% %port%

Btw, when you use directly the ip and port you shouldn't use the % character

-s TSReader_TCP 127.0.0.1 6969

Should be for TSReader:
-s TSReader_TCP %ip% %port%

for VLC:
%proto%://%ip%:%port%

Hmm here's another odd one at 8w with bit-rate barely even registering and an SR of 960!

VLC seems to believe its audio but no sound plays.

Attached is a zip with about a mb of transport stream, it takes awhile to even record that much.

Hello guys,

new EBS Version 2.00 beta3. Cjcr says: "Player Integration: Allows you to configure 3rd party software to run with specific command-line arguments with the selected item on Report list. I’ve tested with VLC with own BDA engine for DVB and works fine. I think TSReader also..."

I have problems with that, EBS Report list <-> VLC.

What to put in the "Command Line" in EBS >>>Device >>>Player Integration?
The same must be put in VLC?

Best Regards
qwer.

Click on the little square on the bottom right side (just above the OK button) of the Player Config window. Then just click the "VLC 1.0.X - 1.1.X (Demo)" menu item. It will insert all the necessary parameters, check also the "send variables in KHz ..." check box, then click on apply and OK. Theoretically it will work, although there seems to be some problems that prohibit the various parameters to be passed to VLC correctly all the time (you should not put anything to VLC, it will get all the parameters from EBS).

Hello strs65,

thanks for your helpful reply! I did it like this.

But VLC "Root" shows only "dvb-s://"?

I cannot see any transmission between EBS<->VLC.

Best Regards
qwer.

Yeap, that's the problem, it doesn't work all the time. When it does work the various information and parameters are displayed on VLC's status bar. But I can't figure out (and I'm also "playing" with those parameters) what makes it work one time but not others... really confused... :confused

Not only theoretically is possible, but practical.Parameters are those that you have indicated. After you have entered these parameters, click on "Play" in EBS,and ...voila:

Yes, I've already written that it works ...some times! Now the problem is why it doesn't work all the time!

Try it on a known DVB-S2/QPSK/8PSK transponder. For some reason it works more frequently (at least here) with this modulation than DVB-S.

I think I have some progress to report. I decided to delete some of the parameters (I think they are passed automatically to VLC, so there is no reason to have them) and now most of the times EBS --> VLC works ok. These are the parameters I have now:

dvb-s:// :dvb-frequency={0} :dvb-srate={1} :dvb-polarisation={2} :meta-title={0},{2},{1},{3}_[{14}/{15}] :meta-artist=RF:{9},_SNR:{10}

Btw, I uploaded a little video on youtube to show the results (using my Technotrend S2-1600)

Thanks a lot, strs65!

But for me EBS<->VLC doesn´t work with my Omicom S2 card (for today).

Best Greetings to Greece and good DXing as well!
