Hello VS,

thanks! Ok, I will try this too.

This mux is in ACM/VCM mode and you cannot scan it with F15.

Best regards

@VS,

it´s simply easy.

Lock TP with CrazyScan "Blind scan and Constellation monitoring" than click on "DVB" symbol. After that open VLC media player and put there "tcp://127.0.0.1:6969" in (look at my attached screenshot). Now you can click the "run" Button and it starts...

You can also use an "auto start" when you click on "Invoke analyzer" and choose there VLC media player.exe.

BTW. there are a lot of TP using ACM/VCM on this bird, too.

Best regards
qwer.

Ok ...got a 400mb sample which wont play with VLC ...but will play back in dvbviewer ..providing the correct codecs are present ..
Problem is I have nowhere to upload a 400mb zip for you guys to test ..
Anyone run a server and feel like hosting this sample ?

@ Edgar ...how are you getting Crazyscan to open and stream directly to vlc ?

Another method:

input the path to VLC and when it asks for parameters enter %Proto%://%ip%:%port%. This will bring up the first channel in the mux. In VLC click on playback, then choose the program you want to watch.

Did as you suggested Edgar ..
vlc does indeed open ..but cannot play the stream ...
The stream is not compatible with vlc as such ..
The only app so far which I've found that will 'open' and play it ...although heavily fragmented ..is dvbviewer.

I suspect this is part of the problem Starman ..
The video stream possibly isn't the first stream in the mux
vlc therefore doesn't like it
?

I suspect we need an app to demux the stream on the fly ..and stream only the video content to vlc..
or something like that ..

If the video stream isn't the first one you can easily select the second from Playback>Program

Exactly! and if its an older version of VLC, look under navigation, the mux channels should be in there.

Hello,

now I had installed "Etymonix MPEG-2 Video Decoder" and for first time, TransEdit get a real lock with correct PIDs (APID/VPID) on this mux! Great!

But data transfer is only ~20kbps and I only can get black screen with "Preview" mode from TransEdit.

Thanks for the hints guys ...but the answer is still no ..
vlc cannot handle or demux this stream ..
Perhaps it cannot access the neccessary codecs..

Hi Edgar ...
I can go one better than that ...but still crashes the card ..requiring a system re-boot after a few seconds ...
The longest run without a crash is about 30 seconds..

On your screenshot I read that the stream type of this transponder is "continuous", not a plain transport stream type. I can't tell if it really carries a video stream or not, but I guess VLC and TS Reader can't handle this kind of stream (yet?).

I have to be honest ...I haven't tried that method ...
It might work ..but not 100% convinced ...as even after the channels/scan is imported ...I'm not sure that dvbviewer could then switch the Hi Lo band correctly ..even though the channels would actually be in the database ....as the band switch would still need to be activated ...and dvbviewer isn't compatible with the driver..
Does that make sense?

...in other words ..what I'm saying is ...
Not sure if dvbviewer can turn the 22khz tone on and off via the TBS driver..
??

DVBViewer and TBS6925 work well with DiSEqC 1.1.I mention that I have OS Windows 7 64 bit. Here's how it is configured TransEdit to scan satellites and then how to use player.I hope to help than those who have problems with TransEdit.

The more I look into this ..
The more I am convinced that these encoded packets within the muxed TS stream are intended for redistribution over 3G or mobile phone networks ..

Take a look at this :-

_http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/networkinginternet/conceptual/streamingmediaguide/HTTPStreamingArchitecture/HTTPStreamingArchitecture.html
It certainly shows a lot of similarities to what we are seeing ..
Since anyone can 'log into' the continuous stream simply by accessing the stream by phone ..at any point ...then periodic indexing would be required ..
Presumably ...this is what needs to be extracted and used in order to synchronise the received stream ..

???
complex indeed ...
my head hurts ....
Doh!

Thanks Satesco ..
I'm thinking that I have seen reference already to the problems being non existant or indeed minimal when using windoze 7 ..
Problem is it doesn't appear XP or Vista compliant as yet ..

No way I'm buying a new OS just to swell bill gates koffers ..
I like XP ..
always have ...and don't want to change ...
hopefully they will solve the compatibility issues eventually.

Windoze 7 ..'to the cloud' ....and hopefully float away on one ...for good..

I understand you and me also liked to work with XP.When I first used TBS6925 card,5 months now{I was a beta tester}, I installed it on XP 32 and after several unsuccessful attempts, finally I could use DiSEqC 1.1.Then the producer told me that they talk to people from DVBViewer to provide support for tbs6925.And indeed, now when install DVBViewer you can chose this card from the device list.It was much harder then that drivers was changed more often. In my opinion the drivers for tbs6925 need to be worked and improved;often conflict with other drivers or applications, leading to crash or malfunction of players.
I do not know if you have more patience, but I would suggest to install a fresh XP and before putting the other applications, try to test both TBS6925 card and DVBViewer with DiSEqC 1.1.I am sure that will work on a fresh Windows.

Hi Satesco ..
This is a fresh install of XPpro ...specifically for the TBS installation ..
No conflicts ..all other cards removed ..
No probs with Crazy scan or EBS ...
The problems only start when trying to use with DvbViewer pro (latest version)

..and sadly ..TBS even supply a rebadged version of dvbviewer/tbsviewer ....with the bundle..
That doesn't even allow for uncommited or diseqc 1.1 switches ..
I suppose they were aware of the 'issues' even then ..
TBS and DvbViewer need to get communicating to resolve these issues ..as soon as possible ...as this card the TBS6925 is set to become the 'standard' for serious satellite enthusiasts I suspect..

..another point that might be worth noting ..
There were hardware changes between current version cards sold ..and early versions ..
I believe there was a MK1 and a MKII TBS6925 ..
It may well be that the early version worked ok ...and that the chip change in the later version is responsible for the problems and incompatibilities..
Just a thought..
