@ Paul and anyone else interested

Here is my first full satellite C band scan with EBS ..
Rather than waste space starting seperate posts ..
As I complete scans of each bird ..I'll add the zips here..

rgds
VS

I may well change some of these zips ...as very often the transponders are 'Time of Day' dependent ..
For example sstv Arabsat 2B zip ..is only available during daylight hours ..but the Sudanese mux ..is only available in the evening ..
So When I've added all possibilites ..with another scan ..these will be added to the zip ..thus it may well change.

Hi Purple ...
On the first page 'General' Tab ..EBS
You can set the save location for the transponders you scan ..
These can be saved in various formats to suit different viewer applications ..
In My case DvbViewer..
I made a dedicated directory in the root on C: called it 'Transponders' ...
I preferred this rather than sending the generated ini directly to the viewer app ..
'More control' ..and it avoids overwriting transponder .ini files without my consent.

rgds
VS

..btw what viewer app are you using ...and where have you currently got EBS generated .ini files pointed to ?
can i use tbs viewer? i created a file in my docs thought i could find where to put it later but nothing appeared there.(no Tps) saw a file somewhere yesterday but ive tried so many things i lost my way. what format do i use for tbs viewer?

I'll let someone else answer that m8 ..
I've not used TBS viewer fully as yet ..as its a basic cut down ...rebadged version of dvbviewer..

This being the case ..chances are the transponder files need to be saved post scan ...in dvbviewer readable format ..
..and chances are ..they are stored in Documents and settings > user > application data > CMUV > Dvbviewer

but don't quote me on that..

Found a feed on 1w from NHK Japan on 11524 V 2/3 29915 8PSK Pilot On

I wondered where they where so had the idea to use Google Goggles on my Android phone so I took a photograph of the live image on my monitor hoping Goggles would recognise it, to my surprise it matched it as Bayreuth Festspielhaus in Bayreuth, Germany.

So I had the idea to make it easier and screenshot the feed and use Google Images online and was just as successful.

Here are the screenshots.

Thought this method maybe of use of others to find ground location of feeds.

PM, if you are still using DVB Dream would it help if I send you my DVB Dream channel list file, it should be as simple as overwriting your current one. As long as you're confident your dish is pointing correctly you'll have some known channels to get you going.

I'll attach it here, unzip it and put it in the main DVBDream directory, there will already be one of the same size in the folder which you can either overwrite or rename before putting this one in. Ignore all the C band stuff with the different positions, it's my 'fix' to store C and Ku signals on the same satellite. There's not much in the way of encrypted signals or data either, Dream appears to have a memory limit on what can be stored so I tend to delete them.

Just wondering if anybody has had this problem with the card -

Every couple of days or so, on switching on the PC from cold, I lose power to the LNB (confirmed by noting absence of voltages at the card's LNB out). Rebooting the PC brings the card back to life.

It's no big deal, as I know what to do to get it working normally. Except when it first happened, I had dark thoughts of a possible LNB short or similar :-ohcrap

Llew, can't say thats ever happened here...at least yet. Next time it happens you might go to control panel and disable/enable the device, might wake it up without going through a re-boot.

A nifty idea remlap. Could help on some of the more obscure ones. Will have to check if my iPhone can use Goggles.

Hi friends ..
Appologies for the fragmented quality of this captured image ..
But I believe it to be new and possibly undiscovered..
Taken at 3723R ...on Intelsat 10-02 at 1.0°W
C band ..
Transponder not even listed on Lyngsat

From the audio just before Dvbviewer crashed ...I belive this to be a Fox News feed..

anyway here's the broken snapshot

Hello VS,

I have trouble to install "your" "Etymonix MPEG-2 Video Decoder" to run in DVBViewer!

I tried a lot, but it´s even not in my device list as registered filter under DVBViewer. Maybe you can help me and give me a download link for this "filter" (and how to register this "filter" for DVBViewer)?

Of course, there´s no problem to scan 3723 R @Intelsat 10-02 with my dish. It´s a big mux!

Best Regards
qwer.

Hi friends ..
I've tried scanning this Transponder with a conventional receiver (F15)
The signal is strong enough ..but the F15 can find no useable video content ..
Only the 6925 can resolve anything ...but sadly it keeps crashing the card ..so a reboot of the pc is then neccessary..

I suspect this is the same format as the unresolvable signal from Fox on 55West Cband

here is a constellation diagram ..and the transponder details as captured by EBS

>>3723,V,19200,56,149,|-43 dBm, 6.7 dB

Hi Edgar ...
Not sure this particular feed is using the Etymonix codec ..
More likely Hd and using CoreAVC 264
But in case you want to get etymonix ..
here's the link
_http://www.etymonix.com/products/softreel/softreel.htm

I had to pay for it of course ...not a freebie..
But has proved very effective and stable so far ..
Running the install after purchase ..makes the codec self registering ..and visible in dvbviewer and other apps..
