Download the latest version of CrazyScan (Crazycat constantly updates his programs) 1.00.643. Dots are blue at first and gradually changing to red on "hot" spots.

Crazycat's certainly keeping us on our toes. Looks a very nice addition, will try that one out.

In Crazyscan Monitor, when I 'invoke analyser' to TCP to TSReader, the Parameters box needs the TCP ip and port address (127.0.0.1 6969). I can't find an .ini file where I can change the ip address from the default TCP_%ip%_%port% without having to always write it in. Is there one?

The default is the 127.0.0.1 as far as I know and the relevant ini is the Crazyscan.ini, section "streamanalyzer".

Code:
[StreamAnalyzer]
StartAnalyzer=true
UpdateSignalLevels=true
IP=127.0.0.1
Port=6969
Buffer=96256
Path=C:/Program Files (x86)/COOL.STF/TSReader/TSReader.exe
Params=-s TSReader_TCP %ip% %port%

Into what do you want to change it? On the other hand there is the possibility if you have installed CrazyScan in the default "Programs Files" directory of Windows 7, that the OS does not let you save the settings of various ini files unless you open the program (or the text editor) as administrator.

Could someone kindly point me in the right direction for Crazyscan 643 ...which I believe is the most recent..

I can only see CrazyScan 1.0.0.635 listed...at ricks website toolbox.
I'm assuming 643 might be a beta ? ..and might not be in the list ..

Many thanks Strs..
The latest constellation analyser is even more impressive ..
Just got it up and running ..

The gain of the TBS tuner compares very favourably with the F15 stb ..

Both tuners showing approx 6db above the noise on AFN Cband 1West

Oh I see, that is the default. Yes, Program Files (x86) is the path that I have TSReader.exe in, and CrazyScan also x86.

I was making things difficult for myself putting TCP ip and port in everytime. Put it down as a senior moment :-ohcrap

Well...it would appear that Even the latest dvbviewer pro cannot operate my 8 way switch ..
I've selected.. extended ...uncomitted ...port 4
..and saved it..
Then tried a full range scan using dvbviewer ...
It detects the presence of a signal ...but scans no channels at all ...
Port 4 is a fixed minidish pointing at astra 28.2 East ..
The signal its detecting appears to be from the TD88 on port1 ..which of course isn't currently pointing at 28.2 East ..so as expected ..
..No channels locked or scanned,
I tried the same thing with both variations of basic comitted 4 port diseqc switch selected ..
Still nothing ...
I found a solution ..
First run up Crazyscan ..which _does_ accomodate diseqc 1.1 switches ..
Select port 4 diseqc 1.1 of the 8 way switch ....and use crazyscan to enable the switch.
Then shut down crazyscan
The 8 port switch remains locked on port4 ...
Then scan 28.2 ..full range ...with the uncomitted 4 port setting enabled ..as this makes no difference to switching ..
The 1.1 switch effectively latches until it receives a command to change port..
28.2East scans perfectly ...and will remain selected as it cannot be dropped or changed by dvbviewer.
In other words ..
Dvbviewer DOES NOT operate a diseqc 1.1 ...8 way switch ..
Its time they got this sorted ...as these 1.1 switches are commonly available ...and most set top boxes ..and Crazyscan can accomodate them.
C'mon Christian Hackbart..If you ever read this ..
Its a basic function and would be useful if it worked.

Hi friends ..
Last question for tonight ..
Since Crazyscan appears to be the only application capable of operating my switch ...and therefore my dishes ..
Is there a function to export the settings ie ..all transponder details found during the scan ..to a file that can then be imported to dvbviewer ..so that I effectively have the most up-to-date ..transponder list to use in the viewer application when scanning channels in ?
Hope that makes sense..

Hi Llew ..
I will surely do that ...probably tomorrow...
In the meantime I was just playing around with some albeit temporary and long winded method of exporting ...and importing a newly blindscanned transponder list to a viewer application.

From a user's point of view how does it compare to the (much cheaper) TBS 8921?

TBS has made some recent improvements to the 8921 but it really isn't in the same class as the 6925. The blind scan is fairly quick but it misses transponders mostly low SR ones. It isn't supported in CrazyScan/BLScan so for me that is a big strike against it.

But I don't really need a second Sat card in the system ..but would have liked the TV card to be 'seen' by the OS ..

Sacrilege!!! Only one Sat card in your computer? :-ohcrap Kidding, but really your Twinhan should not conflict with your 6925. The only time you might get in dvbs card conflict trouble is if you had two cards using the same driver. I have four dvb cards in my box most of the time and its been that way for many years with many different cards and I've never experienced conflicts. That TV card though, might be another story,

Sometimes new versions are posted on the russian site only, or posted with delay on ricktaylor.

Please give BLScan or Easy Blind Scan a try, it will do what you want more easily. You can select the ini output format..Dvbviewer is one of the choices and you can pre-select where you would like the ini file dumped on your drive, no dragging ini files to the transponders directory. Those applications will handle your switches and motors also. These programs use CrazyCat's streamreader, the same one as in CrazyScan

Had to run the link through Babelfish ...so the translation wasn't entirely readable ...but from what I did read ..the problem is the same ..
Either the diseqc 1.1 command produced by the TBS card cannot be interpreted by dvbviewer ...or dvbviewer cannot communicate correctly with my Gecen GD-81E 1.1 switch.

So ...I'm not the only one having problems ..
..and as yet there is no answer or fix reported.

btw ...also posted my problem up around midnight to the general forum..
