Isn't it another $29 every year then to keep using it?
No, it works indefinately, but if you want any new updates to the program after the year is up it costs $29. I let mine go three years until this year and now that I've re-upped I dont' see anything obvious I was missing. I'm sure there were some changes/enhancements, but it still seems to work the same in my world.

What is the big plus on the long trusted TransEdit?

I like TransEdit, its similar to TSREADER but I can't find any way to stream to it from CrazyScan, so I guess that is a minus. The reason I let my TSREADER license go un-updated is because I was using TransEdit and Dvbviewer almost exclusively, but now that I have CrazyScan->TSREADER->and VLC for viewing(does 4:2:2 as well) I've gotten away from TransEdit. If I could stream to it I would probably use it.

Bit of a learning curve coming for me then, but I know everyone here will be willing to help me out if I come into problems.

I am very comfortable using TranEdit, but I assume I can just record the transport stream and analyse it elsewhere without doing it on the fly?

I currently use MediaInfo for recorded transport streams for finding out the codec and stream information but is there anything else out there?

You may be interested in those two offline ts analyzers, both free.

There are (at least) two other stream analyzer programs, not free. The first one works with the TBS 6925 (I didn't check the second). Both have trial versions. The first one has a 14 day trial version, but I am not sure if it really expires except the nag screen when the program starts and closes.

Well ..
I'm making some progress ..
I can get select a peak on the crazyscan ..
Open the constellation analyser ...then get the selected peak to stream to an analyser ...which in turn can activate vlc ...and thus produce a video with audio ...for the selected PMT/channel ..
All good stuff ..
How do I get vlc to use h264 codecs ?
not sussed this yet ..
assuming its even possible using vlc ?
any hints welcomed...
will check back tomorrow ...its late now..

VLC uses its own inbuilt codecs, if the files don't play, they're either corrupt, unsupported by VLC, or your computer is not upto the task of decoding the video.

h.264/AVC is natively supported by VLC.

Hi Remlap..
I'll take a look later ..
My Main PC is currently tied up on data recovery for a paying customer ..
So off limits at the moment

I was definately on TV channels though last night ...all clearly identified as such ..and the vlc video window displayed a raster/image which was almost blank white ..with occasional smears of colour and video artifacts ..
It just looked like a codec or renderer was missing..

..Found some time to revist the 32psk stream at 4162H 55W ...
Still getting a stream containg the fox feed ...when actually running.

Dvbviewer still plays this with occasional breakups in image ..
Low signal or incompatibility ...I'm not sure ..
What I do know is that ..so far ...I haven't found anyththing which will analyse and be able to demux this stream..
Anyone else had any success yet ?

Well, I just ran it through TransEdit and it analyses it ok, also will scan it in with the proper parameters. Strange though, today, TSREADER won't do anything with it at all, no pids, nothing, just sync losses. I can record the stream in Crazyscan and it plays in Dvbviewer, although choppy video, and audio drops occasionally. Interesting that Dvbviewer reports this as 25fps. I don't remember ever seeing that before, usually 29.97 fps. I'm in NTSC land here, are you watching this in PAL?

Hi Starman ..
Yes I'm watching in PAL ...
But as you say ..no sign of stream data ..
I wonder what they are up to with this ??
certainly no consistancy ..
Sometimes 32psk ..sometimes 8 or even 16 ..
Occasioinally just a qpsk carrier..
Definately odd and one to keep an eye on I think.

This feed on 33E shows a tendency to fill the top right I/Q sector of the diagram with more information. Is this a characteristic of the transmission type, or just the way CrazyScan plots the diagram?

Llew, take a look here _http://rickcaylor.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=5427372
CrazyCat has some comments on a very similar finding.

EDIT: If you download the newest streamreader you may find your modulation and FEC will show as ?? rather than values. or maybe you are using the latest?

It looks as though one octant has more modultion than the others, this is probably because more information is being transmitted in that octant.

Amazing shipping with DHL over a weekend too from Hong Kong, can't fault them!

All done now I need to get my head around CrazyScan.

Filmed an unboxing video, which I'll stick up on YouTube this evening.

There is a new version (3.8.0) of Transedit for DVBViewer Pro that supports the TBS 6925 with Diseqc 1.1 / 1.2 commands. I don't have a diseqc switch, so I can't tell about it, but it works nice with Diseqc 1.2 and my old SG2100 motor. DVBViewer Pro has not updated yet, so it still can't send properly those commands (only diseqc 1.0).

_http://www.dvbviewer.tv/forum/topic/2745-transedit/page__st__60__p__343210#entry343210

.....

- Added: DiSEqC 1.1/1.2 support for new TBS PCIe devices (TBS 6922, TBS 6925, TBS 6984). In case of a TransEdit update please perform Settings -> Hardware -> Detect Devices.

I guess this is what you get with CrazyScan? It needs some basic files to work, download them from the link and just put them in the same folder with crazyscan,
