My location had been set OK, not to the degree of accuracy as yours (2 decimal points). Should be OK I would think.
Not done anything in the rtl1090 config. I'll check that one out when I'm back in VRS mode again - cable presently being used for satellite.
I had to set that accurate, as it was saying I was in France to start with, then I went for a swim of the coast of Weymouth.

Now set to the right local. And the spikes now plot properly.

Change the port to anything. And reboot, then change it back to 31001, and reboot again, then the option appeared for me.

OK I'll try that when I'm dongled up later, and report back.

Just found out,

Set the Flightradar24 feeder to the udp port 30003. (Switch on udp in rtl1090)

Configure vrs to port 31001 tcp.

Things are much happier on my network now.

Tried that. Nope, only rings, no spikes.

OK for now with the current display, aeroplanes and info. Cheers.

@lovelyperson you should have a go at logging...

It's actually really easy :D

Rtl chipset dongle & a couple of programs and a few odd bits of coax.

Aviation mad for over 40 years............unfortunately Chris the problem with the good lady's illness is worsening and that is why I have not posted as much as I would have liked but still read the forum several times a day...............very lucky that the hobby is home based.

Be sure Chris that when I see a window of time I will certainly get cracking...............best wishes and be safe. respect-048.gif

Just found out that my old Xp (ide, pentium something) is struggling like hell.

Poor old thing, looks like its ready for the scrap heap.

Just been on the bay, and picked up a dell optiplex base, 250gb hdd, Windows 10, delivered for £55.99

I should get it tomorrow:)

Hopefully that will be able to run the rtl1090 & 24feed. Fingers crossed.

Ah Ive spotted one difference between our setups Chris. RTL1090 is one one of the screengrabs a couple of days back..

RTL1090 is now superseded by dump1090 - which is the one Im running. That might be why our port numbers dont match up.

I have since been playing with my port numbers, vrs is on 30334.

And the Flightradar24 feed is on 31001.

I will have a look at dump1090. :-)

Got the dell base running, and feeding in to Flightradar24 and 360radar.

The base unit is also running vrs, and automatically starts up when powered up!:D

And I have the new mk4 to play with.

Now all I need are some aircraft to track.
