Hi, ive got it all back together, I had to take the boots of the bearing to do the welding there are now back in place and packed to the brim with grease, the bolt I bought for the elevation pivot is around 1 inch too small so I will pick another up tomorrow, ive grinded a bit of each side of the bearing to allow it to tilt fully back,

I now need to put the adjustment bolts near as dam it in the correct place and workout the best place for the actuator :).

Two questions Martin :

Why are you mounting a steering wheel from a tractor above the gutter?......Are the house foundations in tip top condition?

I am sure it was meant in a jovial manner, Martin...

Serious question..(!)... Are the neighbours ok with the amount of dishes you have/will have up there? I know you have pp for the 1.8m but hope the neighbours don't start moaning about getting more than they bargained for...

Martin, surely you know my whacky sense of humour by now...I'm full of admiration for what you've done and I know I couldn't have fabricated what you have...

I'd certainly be worried if I put up a 3m dish up without permission and then being told to take it down but the friendly council employee because someone nearby complained. It's why I am going into expensive trouble of getting PP for the 1.8m - my neighbours might move out in a few months to be replaced by someone less tolerant ...

While I don't care what my neighbours think either, they have the potential to be a huge nuisance if not dealt with.

I am past caring Alex, I will deal with any issues as and when they arise, I am totally aware of what I am supposed to do and not, the way to fit them is so they classed as a temp setup and nothing planning can do then :).

Have you applied for permission for two 1.8 ?, if not your in the same boat as me :D. but its nothing to do with me all I can say is good luck:).

Hah... Nope. But no real plans for it yet. There's only really one good spot in my garden for good coverage and that's where the offset one will go.

Ok back on track:).

Hi samoloko, its work in progress I can only grab an hour on this here and there, I am also making this up as I go along no measurements to follow etc, so I need time to think and work out my next move, anyhow I now have it in mind how/what I am going to do and ive just picked the bits up for this :).

Hi, a bit more done and some work un done, I wasn't happy with the length of the pivot holder, so ive grinded it off and cut a slightly longer bit, it would have worked as it was but I am being particular here,

Ive drilled the pivot ready for the elevation adjusters, you should get the jest of what I am doing from the pictures below.

Hi, a bit more done on this. it might look a bit OTT, but this mount will be capable of driving a light weight 2.4 dish.

Those eye bolts look suspiciously like the ones I used on Carl ..
are they I wonder ?
Got mine on ebay listed as gate hinges ..but sadly not in stainless ..
(10mm )
are yours ?
Mine were just galvanised ...
would have preferred SS and was prepared to pay a bit more for'em ..but they didn't do stainless..
