Hi Team,
Any one from the UK who can pick up this transponder 11660 H 10500 1/2

Please let me know.

Thanks

It's at a reasonable level but the spectrum shape is awful. At that level, I'd expect a decent SNR. I'm guessing that there's either something wrong with the TX or there's another signal close or on the same frequency.

CS gives all sorts of responses to the scan. It did show the right data rate once or twice.

Here's a feed from 29th May

@s-band Thank you for your message
Do unstill have your 1.2 Setup?
Any chance of me picking this up in Manchester?

This is my scan from around 30 miles east of Manchester in West Yorkshire with a 1m Dish. Signal is very weak but quite an easy lock because of the favourable parameters used. I don't have a clear view of 53E, my dish is looking at the wall, but just catches some of the signal, so anyone with a clearer view should get a much stronger signal.

@SatSearcher Can you actually get anything from it? I get occasional locks and CS shows it in the search but the spectrum looks bad. I wonder if there's something amiss here. I'd expect better SNR than I get.

@ndiqbal123 The 1.2 is down at the moment, however, I'd expect it to be around 3dB down on the 1.8m.

Yes, I can get a solid lock despite the very weak signal, currently coming in at a measly 1.5dB

Are you trying to receive with a receiver or with a card? I have to enter the symbol rate on my TBS 6983 and unlock it in hardlock mode.
According to the footprint, the signal on the islands should still be quite good.

I watched it again. There are two frequencies nearby. The Afghan transponder is now on 11654 H and another sluggish transponder is connected to 11660 H. This appears to be from a different beam and is now interfering with 11654 H.

That would explain my confusion and the very messy spectrum, 2 signals close or even partially on top of each other. The one on 11659H has a symbol rate of 9000ks/s and I just caught it with a scan one time out of many.

<edit> Spectrum added with markers on both frequencies

Well this new signal has knocked out the Afghan package for me, can't get it at all now! Can lock the SR 9000 signal though. This has happened very quickly, scanned it about 3 hours ago and there was no sign of the SR 9000 signal.

I can get a lock in manual scan "11660 H 10500" (or even 11665 H) via CrazyScan tool, I can lock it as "11665 H 10500"...

Bimmed it 'ere at 2.8dB with reported frequency of 11665 and SR of 10498.

I think the dish might be getting partially blocked by an overgrown bush in a neighbours garden.
The dish is aiming quite low so would need to get the laser sighter out when its dark to check if I am getting partially blocked by the bush.
