Further to my post #39.
Yesterday afternoon, I ventured onto the roof of my apartment block with a Satlink WS-6908 meter to ensure my dish and LNB were optimised prior to the changeover to 2E. They were. Channel 5 SD was badly pixelated on the Satlink but sweet FA on my Sky box.
Checked channels on TV this afternoon to see if there had been any change. All BBC radio and TV channels, along with Channel 5 SD were still dead. I've had an Inverto Quad Black Ultra waiting in the wings so this afternoon I went up top again with the meter to see if changing the LNB would improve matters. Prior to removing the old quad Grundig GLQD40, Channel 5 SD was still badly pixelated on the Satlink with S/N reading 75 and Quality flicking between 34 and 35. Still no Satlink lock on BBC channels. After changing to the Inverto and peaking it, Channel 5 had a steady picture on the Satlink with S/N reading 75 (unchanged) and Quality between 41 and 42 (better). Still nothing on BBC. Checked Channel 5 SD on the TV and I now have a picture. Probably no rain margin though and whether it breaks up later in the evening remains to be seen.
So, I conclude that, as I expected, the Inverto Quad Black Ultra is better than the Grundig and, as Channel 5 SD is on 2F's UK Spot beam, it seems that 2E´s UK Spot is somewhat weaker (hence no BBC). At least that's the case here in Menorca.
Not looking forward to the next round of channel migration to 2E.
