How's everyone doing ?

it's all fine here so far, nothing damaged at all.

Was hoping some trees would be down but nothing the wind not strong enough here to do anything major i think.

Quite a few trees down in the area, but the local clean up squads have cut through them where they have fallen across roads to get the traffic moving again. None of the trees blocking my westerly satellites have fallen though..... :D

Goddamit ...something has moved on Christina ..
I can still lock Startimes ...Kung Fu channel on 10 East ...and the signal is a mind blowing 9.5 db on the F15 ..but in order to recapture it ..I had to fine tune the Vbox 6 clicks East ...
So the wind _did_ have an effect ..but has it moved the dish around the pole ...?
Or gone for the weaker point and slid the actuator arm a touch ..?
Time to investigate ...
such movements can be significant on a deep large dish..

Just a few stray twigs and no power outages.

Until a couple of years ago, we lost the elastic trickery every time anyone farted, it seemed.

Couple of pole replacements and improved auto-reclosers have improved matters immeasurably.

Well ..I previously had run a 2 inch length of aluminium tape down the joint where the polar mount sits atop the pole ..
This has not stretched and broken ..so the 'seal' is intact ..
Which only leaves the actuator arm ...
The wind must have had sufficient force to slide or stetch the actuator arm causing it to move or slip 'teeth' on the internal worm drive ..
..thus changing the vbox stored positions relative to the dish positions ..
In other words ..the dish still tracks the arc ..but has shifted sideways ..
those 80 >90 mph gusts certainly were powerful ..and the fact that the movement is Eastwards ..makes sense ..as the gusts were westerly in origin..

My 1metre channelmaster is held on to the 1224 adapter plate with 4 bolts and I do wonder in these winds whether that is strong enough as the dish wobbles slightly but no movement seen yet.

vipersan, are you using a heavy duty 24inch actuator on the big dish ?

Sadly not as heavy duty as I'd like ..The outer length of the arm itself is 28 inches ..so I'm assuming its classed as a 24..
I'd really like a heavy duty 36 ..one day ...maybe..
but a bit of a rarity in the UK I guess...

VS, I notice HM Sat in Germany stock a Superjack 36" for €36 and a Jaeger 36" for €79. Don't know whether the current transaction exchange rate of about €1:15 to £1 makes this an attractive buy or not.

The 36euro one may be the thinner actuator and not a heavy duty version.

Hi! Just before New Year I got my 36" heavy duty actuator, payed for that about 60 EUR. Maximum size of this toy (when erected) 172cm, simply huge.
I think you folks did not absorb this heavy wind with all your antennas. Now some leftovers of gusts came across Baltic sea and continue to try damage some external SAT equipment right here.

I think it is, but it's hard to tell from the photo. Have a look yourself:
