the slightest wobble of the dish due to the winds and you get the no signal message on the receiver.

I do wonder if I would be better with a polar mount over the 1224 I have, seems there might be some movement in the mount.

Blowing a proper Hooley this morning with driving drizzle. Turned the Laminas round to 30°W as the wind direction has changed to NW. Forecast says it'll calm down by tonight but I'm now thinking it's merely a respite before the next one. I need some firewood from the barn (I too am bereft of flammable peasants) so I might be some time......

get a big log on the fire so it will last a while or some whiskey to warm up with instead.

left mine on 1west as that seems best position at the moment.

good job the metal triax dish is in the shed as for sure it will have been bent in this weather.

Well, if anything it's got a bit worse in the last hour. I'll leave bringing up wood till this afternoon, I have a solid fuel Rayburn that heats downstairs, five radiators upstairs and that I can cook on. I use the log burner as background heat (or sometimes to cheer me up).......I have some whisky to fall back (over?) on too....

First day back in work today to find one of the windows on the top floor had blown out over the holiday and was nicely boarded up. Its one of the opening ones so it looks like the wind has rattled it enough to bounce the catch open & its swung open ripping the entire window off the frame!

Is it my imagination ..or is the blaady wind getting up again ..
Currently in bed on my laptop ...and heard the wind howling through the double glazing and louder than the film I'm watching ..
Glad the dishes are still tied down ...but isn't it time we caught a break from this sh1t..

Great, I only just put a tarpaulin over the shed roof today, and I'm not entirely sure if it'll still be there tomorrow if the winds pick up and carry it off.... :-doh!

Yes, I did spot the typo, but your replies are far more amusing than if I'd corrected it.

Thanks for making a happy man very old.

I can thoroughly recommend T shorts ..
I usually lace my T with brandy ..or whiskey ...
particularly if it gets nippier as has been promised ..
