It's blowing a SW gale....it's raining.......it's cold enough to warrant me lighting the Rayburn.....again......and EDF are replacing supply cables to the village and naturally the electric will be cut off this morning till this evening.....(which they wrote to tell me about last week)

However, they have had the foresight to hire large diesel generators and distribute them around the commune. There's one next to my postbox which is chugging away, allowing me to write this and providing power to four houses in total.....

That cloud just reached here, about four minutes of hail, and now glorious sunshine. A few more dark clouds on the horizon coming in from the north west though.

Currently mopping out the passenger footwell of the car.

The amount of water that landed today round here will cover much of the shortfall, and there's just as much predicted for tomorrow.

Heavy rain forecast for here too tomorrow. We seem to be rather short of summer & totally lacking in heatwave this year :(

March was nice.

And we're off to France in mid June, so although it'll no doubt be nice weather there, recent history suggests that the UK experiences its best weather coincident with our absence.

Tomorrow is apparently going to be the one, and the forecast is for at least nine hours solid rain before 10am - accompanied with high winds.

The two rivers near here are already in full swing, but no flood warnings as yet

Chilly but more or less precipitation free up here today, so we headed up to other halfs allotment and planted the potatoes. One heavy hail shower, but all spuds safely planted :)

Well, that was fun

Last night confirmed that there is a leak above the bedroom ceiling, but I'm not going up there until the winds have died down.

Cripes! Well we had really heavy rain a couple of days ago - so much so that SWMBO range me from only half-a-league down t'lane because the road was so deep in water she was concerned about whether she could safely drive through it or not

Well, it is much, much worse right now: The rain is virtually impenetrable and the wind is truly howling ("Howling, howling, I tell ye; We're all doomed. Doomed")
