_http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/motorsport/3781933/Hamiltons-six-of-the-worst.html[h=2]LEWIS HAMILTON'S spectacular shunt at Spa was his SIXTH major incident of the Formula One season — more than any other driver.[/h]The 26-year-old Brit's highly-charged season has had the likes of former champ Niki Lauda lining up to blast his no-holds-barred style.
And even his most ardent fans are beginning to wonder if his apparent win or bust mentality is losing him more than it gains.
Here's how Hamilton's crash-bang-wallop season has shaken out...
APRIL 10, MALAYSIA: Fernando Alonso runs into the back of Hamilton as he makes a hash of an overtaking manoeuvre. Hamilton is later hit with a retrospective drive-through penalty for making more than one change of direction to defend a position. The 20 seconds added to his time drop him from seventh to eighth.
MAY 29, MONACO: Hamilton is given two drive-through penalties relating to separate thumps with Ferrari's Felipe Massa and Williams' Pastor Maldonado. Hamilton calls his visit to stewards as "an absolute frickin' joke" and jokingly suggests he is being picked on "maybe because I'm black". He later apologises to the stewards and FIA president Jean Todt.
JUNE 12, CANADA: In wet conditions following an initial safety car period, Hamilton taps Mark Webber into a spin. Three laps later Hamilton commits F1's cardinal sin by colliding with team-mate Jenson Button. He hits the pit wall and retires.
JULY 31, HUNGARY: Leading the race on lap 47, he spins and straightens his car into oncoming traffic, almost colliding with Force India's Paul di Resta. He receives another drive-through penalty and eventually finishes fourth. Hamilton later apologises to di Resta.
AUGUST 27, BELGIUM, QUALIFYING: Hamilton bangs wheels with Pastor Maldonado at the Bus Stop chicane. Maldonado retaliates as the pair head towards Eau Rouge, slamming into Hamilton and ripping off part of his front wing. Hamilton is reprimanded while Maldonado is given a five-place grid penalty.
AUGUST 28, BELGIUM, RACE: Hamilton heads into the Les Combes esses at the end of the Kemmel straight and moves left into the line of Sauber's Kamui Kobayashi. The resulting touch sends Hamilton crashing nose-first into a barrier. Hamilton later concedes the incident was "100 per cent" his fault.

Formula 1 teams seek clarification over 2012 calendar issues
By Jonathan Noble and Dieter Rencken Sunday, September 25th 2011, 11:38 GMT
Formula 1 teams are to seek clarification from Bernie Ecclestone about the state of the 2012 calendar, because they insist that it was ratified without their support.
As part of the Concorde Agreement, the document that binds F1 together, teams have to give approval to a calendar if there are more than 17 races and if more than half the races take place outside of Europe and the United States.
Under the version of the 2012 calendar that was published recently by the FIA, 11 of the 20 races are classified as these so-called 'flyaways'
When asked about the teams being unhappy that the procedures were not followed, Ecclestone replied: "Then they should go to the police. They are lucky we have got races. Otherwise they would all go out of business."
