Is there CAM to get skytv on DVB-S tuner card?

From what I understand DVBDream just needs the NDScam files, but I can't find a guide anywhere.

I found a simple guide for DVBViewer, but have no idea where to get half of these files from:
-SoftCSA
- FFDecsa.dll, CSA.dll, MakroCSA.dll

In DVBDream the plugin files go in: dvbdream\Plugins\pip00

Whoops, I appear to have FFDecsa.dll, CSA.dll, MakroCSA.dll in my root (DVBDream) directory.

My (standard) SoftCSA.cfg file consists of:

[General]
DecodeAll=0

You can create this in notepad (remembering to save it as SoftCSA.cfg) .

What does the difference in the two values mean? If I change DecodeAll to =0, what will this do?

Also my Plugins have just gone in the Plugins directory, I don't have a pip00 folder. Again, I'm not sure what difference this makes.

Sorry, I thought you didn't have a SoftCSA.cfg file.

It probably means that your SoftCSA is active in decoding all - wheras mine as default isn't.

SoftCSA can be found at _www.Skystar.org. Click on DVB-S Player - Other DVB Players, and it's somewhere in there (may have to scroll down some way).

SoftCSA folder includes FFDecsa.dll, CSA.dll, MakroCSA.dll. I have mine in the DVBViewer root directory.

For DVBViewer, place SoftCSA in the Plugins folder.

I managed to sort all of the SoftCSA files out, put them all in there appropiate directories, but I can't view any of the encrypted channels I'm paying for on my Sky subscription :mad:

I was hoping everything would go smoothly now, but apparently I've done something wrong.

Check your settings in your viewer's Plugin - NDSCam tab, mine are as in the thumbnail.

Also, in the NDSCam tab, click on Monitor to see if it's recognising your card.

Thanks for that. I've got everything working and noticed that the HD channels stutter a bit at times. Just wondering what Audio/Video Plugins do you use to achieve the best picture and sound quality.

Also, is there a way i can arrange the channels so they match the Sky EPG and every other channel thats not on Sky be moved elsewhere, as its a pain trying to find UK version of Sky Sports and when they are mixed along with their German, Italian and Hungarian counterparts.

In DVBDream at the top of the channel list is a dropdown menu where you can select the satellite you require, you can sort the channel listings using "CTRL L".
For the best HD codecs try one of the HD Packs available at dvbsupport.net

Just wondering, should I expect a smooth picture from the HD channels like I receive from a Sky box or should I expect it to stutter for about half a second every minute or so?

I don't have that problem myself with any HD channels I can watch, but I don't have the Sky HD stuff.

Have you tried changing CMD to 12 in the NDSCam ini file? It's supposed to stop channels freezing every 10 seconds, but may not apply to yours happening every minute.

Setting packet size to 184 Bytes in the NDSCam plugins menu is supposed to speed things up too, though whether this is relevant to your problem I can't say.

I have set the packet size to 184 bytes, but haven't set CMD to 12. Its a bigger issue on HD channels but even occurs on SD channels. It seems like there is some interference for a second which suddenly clear up but comes back every minute. I'm just wondering if its because my CPU isn't powerful enough.

One interesting thing I have noticed is that HD encodes captured using Satellite can't playback properly on my C2D E4300, which can handle HD encodes captured from Cable. But HD encodes from Satellight playback fine on my Core i5.

Do you have EMM and/or ECM logging enabled? Checking my logs in the ECM/EMM log files, they are updated every few minutes, sometimes every minute. Perhaps they may be causing the glitches if you have them set to on.

Finally can you suggest a decent AC3 Audio Decoder?

Main Concept AC-3 Audio decoder works fine for me in DVBViewer.

Fine with my basic Sky subscription channels. Don't have a Premium channels sub, so can't help there. Should be OK (see KuchKuch's posts).

That site you recommended earlier for the card reader/emulator. Have you used it before? the reason i asked is because is i ordered mine some time ago and it still hasnt arrived, neither do they answer my emails or phone calls. I have the feeling that i may have been spanked. Can you recommend somewhere else?
