Is there CAM to get skytv on DVB-S tuner card?

Right, your question. Gigabyte in their wisdom transposed the two rows of the COM header, so pin 1 to 9 is the top row whereas some other makes of board have them at the bottom. So to be sure you need the genuine Gigaboard dongle. Can't say whether the one you mention is correctly wired for the Gigabyte board, probably not.

Can't find any Gigabyte versions available in the UK, best bite the bullet and order from elsewhere.

Still waiting for that com port cable from china, got a duolabs + though.

was just wondering, i have a full sub card from sky but was thinking of getting an additional multiroom card. will there be any feasible way around not connecting this card to a phone line (via sky box) or will i need to get another full subscription?

Also, does the duolabs + need a usb cable to work, or can it just work connected to a serial port?

A connection from your PC to the USB port is necessary to power the device.

Right, i got all the right cables set up (i think) - didnt do anything after pluging com port into motherboard,but everything seems to be enabled.

im using the duolab dynamite + and its installed but nothing happens when the card is inserted. I have placed the NSD files in the appropriate folders (alothugh i cant find any great detail as to how this should be arranged) so it could be wrong. Im not getting a NDSCAM on my plugins tab. Any thoughts? please help

If you're using DVBViewer, FFDecsa.dll, CSA.dll, MakroCSA.dll go in the root folder, and NDSCam in the MDPlugins folder.

Yeah, ive got the softcsa.dll and .ini files in dvbvier\plugins. But where does the MDplugins go? this is in the original SoftCSA_300 folder right? and the NDScam, what files from here need to go in the MDplugins - can they be in a folder within MDplugins (SoftCSA_300\MDPlugins\NDSCAM.0.0.0.7\..) or do they need to be outside of a folder?

Ok, i now got that working by putting the MDplugins folder in the dvbviewer folder. It doesnt tell you to do that in the manual.

Anyway, ive adjusted my settings to match the one you illustrated earlier and im not getting anything. Ive attached a thumbnail so you can see. Ive got the phoenix settings at 3.68.

right, now when i select "monitor" under ndscam and insert the card one way it tells me "box id found" so i presuming it recognises the card now? But, it tells me i dont have a subscription for a particular channel - when i do.

Which channel(s) are you trying to open? Try one of the basic encrypted channels e.g. Discovery, Living etc. which don't need a box id.

Ive tried loads of different encrypted channels including discovery,living. I keep getting the same responses, you dont have subscription to this channel, no DCW precent. Can you think of what the problem might be?

Im using virtually the same setup as kuchkuch btw. DVBviewer with tbs6981 although i am using a dynamite+ as opposed to an infinity. Im guessing the card reader is working though as it only gives be a boxid number and number of card when the serial cable is plugged in, on phoenix 3.579 and 3.68 and when the card is facing down.

OK, I'll check mine again when I have a few minutes to spare (busy on domestic chores ATM) to see if there's anything I can suggest that you might have missed, although you seem to have everything up and running OK.

Could you also blank out the SNR number also? - as it seems to match up to the number on my card.

Have you tried waking up the lazy sod by hitting the Restart button in Monitor? Works for me.

Yeah i have, many times actually, with man different settings. I have "decode all" checked in softcsa. "NDSCAM use 184 bytes" checked also. It just keeps giveing me the same error. Ive also tried unchecking "encrypted" in the dvbviewer channel editor with changes the EMM reading to FTA but that still gives me an error.
