16 ton up scores last week - thats pretty impressive, although I can see a problem now - so many folk have got BrawnGP as a considerable part of their team line up its going to be difficult to actually pass anyone in front of you now if Brawn keep going well..

Sadly its a no brain pick for many folk - their items are cheap in the purchase box and they are doing well. We need some technical failures for Brawn :D

The trick is now going to be telling when the Brawns are going to get caught as they surely will be - teams with the budgets of Ferrari, McLaren, BMW and Renault, for example, aren't going to idly stand by, are they? I'm still going to resist the full Brawn, I think (maybe stupidly and maybe because I now can't catch the full Brawners by becoming one!).

I also have to say that I'm very surprised that the split rear diffuser has been allowed - after all the FIA stated it was their intention to promote overtaking by reducing the size of rear diffusers and consequently downforce. And what do we get - another fine mess!

Although it's good to see the small guy in the lead.

But of course we Norm are in good shape since as Brawn do get caught up we still have the budget (90+) to change whereas all Brawners only have a budget of 50+

and I put Vettel at first last race and swapped him for Trulli who failed again to finish this race

No, it's going to be the other way round. You need to have at least a good sprinkling of Brawn because their values are going to go up (meaning you have a higher total to spend). After the last race, Ross Brawn's value as manager went up 8M. If Brawn have a good race this weekend, the other components of the team are bound to go up, probably substantially - the manager hike last weekend has to be taken as an early warning.

I think, this weekend, the only non Brawn component I will go with is Barichello - the question is who will I have, can Vettel do it again? Toyota should also be doing better but I don't think I could trust Trulli to win, better with Glock? Or will Lewis pull it off - I think maybe McLaren should try the Alonso strategy from last weekend of light fuel load to start?

But what I am saying is that at the moment I have the buying power to swap and the all Brawnies don't as they have less than they started with, whilst it is true the value will increase week on week it is all or nothing as they have less buying power at the moment and are not able to afford to swap even if they wanted to, having gone that way they must stay for half about half a season.

Alonso's strategy got him 11th place

Only because it was screwed by starting the race under the safety car - and although it's only conjecture how well it would have worked otherwise, an effort was made to get in the lead and stay there.

What's really surprised me is Ferrari, not because of the bad car, but the bad strategy calls. It inspires little confidence.

As I see it, going all-Brawn is more than merely conservative, it provides the safest way of staying in touch until the inevitable fightback from the original non-double-deck-diffuser group, especially Red Bull and McLaren.

Successfully predicting the race that happens in, and who will be able to mount a challenge to Brawn come the end of the season, is the key this season. I don't think team budgets will be an issue this season, and if they are it won't be for a while yet, which is ironic given the cost-cutting in the sport!

Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock will start the Bahrain Grand Prix from the front row of the grid, after dominating the final session of qualifying at Sakhir on Saturday afternoon. Jenson Button set the pace in the final runs of Q3, lapping his Brawn in 1m 34.044s. Lewis Hamilton's run for McLaren then yielded 1m 34.196s, but then Glock pushed them both back with 1m 33.712s only to be beaten moments later by Trulli on 1m 33.431s. It was the Italian's first pole since the fated Indianapolis race in 2005...

British team, British winner :) If only Hamilton could put together some sort of comeback, would be great to have two Brits fighting it out for the title!

Brawn's Jenson Button has taken his third victory of the season after a commanding performance in Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix. Button finished 7.1s seconds clear of Red Bull's Sebastien Vettel, with polesitter Jarno Trulli third for Toyota. Lewis Hamilton took fourth for McLaren, with Rubens Barrichello fifth in the second Brawn. Kimi Raikkonen scored Ferrari's first points of the season with sixth place...

Championship leader Jenson Button came through from 4th on the grid to win his 3rd race of the season, and combined with Barrichello's 5th place finish, Brawn GP are now way out in front in the Constructors' Championship.

An all-Brawn selection was popular once again, and keeps misterminibus and his Pro-Drive team in 1st, but selecting Sebastian Vettel together with Button and Brawn was the real dream ticket today.

kreacher and john_graydon made that super-pick for their squads, Creatures and Pretty Boy Flyers, and both also predicted that Vettel would qualify in 3rd, and were duly awarded with 156pts each, the top score this race.

Defending champions Team Oily began their recovery from a poor start to the season in Bahrain, as Oily saw his outfit move up 3 place into 13th.

And finally, this unbelievable season continues to surprise us - no less than 18 managers guided their teams to scores of more than 100pts, an all-time record!

Believe it or not today is the 15th anniversary of the death of Ayrton Senna at Monza. Its hard to believe 15 years have passed already - I remember the accident vividly........

Not forgetting Roland Ratzenberger of course who died the previous day in that awful racing weekend.
