I'm getting nothing here from Astra 3A (only from Astra 3:cool:, but those two could certainly be some feeds from 3A. Otherwise something from 21.6E perhaps? Although it doesn't seem likely...

Did you check the content of those transponders?

Yep they were all running feeds from Germany one being from the former Checkpoint Charlie.

One feed left and another appeared.

Hi purplemarina. Good to hear you got your card OK.

Take your time on setting the card up, especially if you're new to PC DVB cards. Ask away if you need help, I'm sure we can get you working in no time :)

Hi friends
Just a quick update ..to let you guys know ..I'm still scanning all the birds I can see with EBS ...and stockpiling the ini files ..
..but am very dissappointed I still don't have a viewer I can use to scan 'em all in with and use ..
Typical example of this is
Astra 4A 4.8 E ..
EBS scanned 53 transponders ..
when imported to dvbviewer ..and a scan performed using the imported ini..
I get 2 channels only ..and these aren't even from 4.8East ..they are from the bird next door @ 4East ..

In other words ..not only do I have to pre-postion the dish before using dvbviewer ..but the app cannot even switch Hi/Lo bands ..
As..all transpoders H and V are Hi band on this bird ..and thus inaccessible because dvbviewer can't use/recognise the TBS driver correctly ..

More and more of these excellent TBS cards are being sold ..
They are becoming _very_ poular ...
Transedit has been modified to cope ...and yet Dvbviewer .....a priemier viewer app ..can't even get this mismatch sorted.
Why are they dragging their heels ...
Beats me ?
but I can't help feeling a sense of dissappointment ..

Can't you scan the EBS ini files in TransEdit and then add/update to Dvbviewer? I guess I'm asking if you are scanning with Transedit or Dvbviewer?

VS I think DVBViewer will wait till the next major update to introduce better support for the card. Although I've not encountered any problems with DVBViewer yet even with an older build of TransEdit.

I have to be honest ...I haven't tried that method ...
It might work ..but not 100% convinced ...as even after the channels/scan is imported ...I'm not sure that dvbviewer could then switch the Hi Lo band correctly ..even though the channels would actually be in the database ....as the band switch would still need to be activated ...and dvbviewer isn't compatible with the driver..
Does that make sense?

...in other words ..what I'm saying is ...
Not sure if dvbviewer can turn the 22khz tone on and off via the TBS driver..

Yes, makes sense, but I would give it a try. I'm pretty sure I read on the Dvbviewer forum that Transedit is the preferred method of importing channels into the list I searched but can't find that posting now. Its all I ever use, its so much easier to select only the channels you want imported.
Like Remlap said above, over on the Dvbviewer forum they say they are working on the TBS problems...hopefully it won't take too long.

I'm about to give it a go by first opening the ebs generated ini for 4.8 East with transedit...performing a scan ...and exporting the channels to dvbviewer..
Long winded ..but worth a try ..
I'll let you know if this works

Evening VS, sorry if I'm asking a stoopid question but have you tried another app like DVB Dream or Prog DVB, do they offer better or worse support for the 6925? If you've any ini files for C band I wouldn't mind a look to see what's available on a 1.8 :)

Hi Paul ..
Tried DVBdream ..
No support for complex switching ...certainly not on the oem version supplied with the card ..
Progdvb is a non starter as the free version doesn't support HD ....you have to buy that version ..

..As to Transedit ..
Looks like I jumped the gun assuming it would band switch no problem ..
Using the 4.8 ebs ini ...opening and scanning with Transedit ....produced exactly the same results ..
No Hi band ...
See attached screencap.
Has anyone had this working with transedit ?
If so ..where you using an uncommitted switch ?
..and which version TBS driver do you have installed ?

btw Paul ..
Not got round to scanning Cband ini files yet ...but will pass them on when I do

Hi VS. I almost always use Transedit to scan the satellites. No problem with that with both official versions of drivers, although I don't have a switch in my system, only the motor...

Thanks Strs ..
Yes indeed ..I've had motor control even through the uncomitted 1.1 switch ...since the latest release of transedit ..
I just assumed 22khz band switching would be ok as well ..
Obviously it isn't ..
I can view any channel ...any transponder singly ..using crazyscan ...
but transedit ..and dvbviewer ...are problematic ...so no way to store entire sat scans as yet..
most frustrating ..
No probs driving the Cband dish ..as this uses diseqc 1.2 control ...and of course no band switching ..
Ku is another matter..

Just wondering if anybody has had this problem with the card -

Every couple of days or so, on switching on the PC from cold, I lose power to the LNB (confirmed by noting absence of voltages at the card's LNB out). Rebooting the PC brings the card back to life.

It's no big deal, as I know what to do to get it working normally. Except when it first happened, I had dark thoughts of a possible LNB short or similar :-ohcrap

Hi,Help!! got myself confused and not sure what to do next. been on this 4hrs today! As well as allday yesterday tried lots of things havent achieved much.eventually the computer crashed, every time it booted dvp ip would load then crash again, got it uninstalled. the only thing ive got to work is easy blindscan, managed to find some transponders thought id cracked it then relised what do i do next? what do i use? what does dvb ip do? do i need it? where have the tp's gone not in the file i specified. ive been reading for weeks not found a simple guide, is it possible someone could do me a guide so i could at least make sure the card is ok and set me on the path. id like to use easyblindscan as im halfway there, ive got the software that came with the card, ts reader light and will go looking for any thats needed. thanks

Hi Purple ...
On the first page 'General' Tab ..EBS
You can set the save location for the transponders you scan ..
These can be saved in various formats to suit different viewer applications ..
In My case DvbViewer..
I made a dedicated directory in the root on C: called it 'Transponders' ...
I preferred this rather than sending the generated ini directly to the viewer app ..
'More control' ..and it avoids overwriting transponder .ini files without my consent.

rgds
VS

..btw what viewer app are you using ...and where have you currently got EBS generated .ini files pointed to ?
