He printed out the diagram earlier today of the doctor of sat plate I think, so he seems to have an idea going through his head.

As for BBC Arabic hopefully signal will improve after dark like 5W and I'll post a screenshot, I've also caught some of the data transponders on the same beam.

As expected signals improved but not greatly. Hoped for better but still. :)

Looks like there's a few ways I could get increase signal yet when I am able to adjust the scalar and options with the dielectric plate. Maybe it'll come in better soon :)

Newbie as far as C Band is concerned. However, would like to follow Remlap and thinking of getting 1.25 / 1.5 Gibertini or Primesat 1.4. Could anyone recommend the best option of exploring some C band channels and a C Band LNB. I will keep my old Channel Master dish for KU band and use the new dish for C Band and weaker Ku Band signals.

Remlapis anything locking/signal at 38e?

I am not sure if I can see 38E right now but I doubt I'll get it even if the dish could see 38E. Welcome to the forum.

I might be able to 30.5E.

Thanks Pride for LNB tip. Could you recommend a dish and I understand FS15 receiver is good for weak signals.

Keep an eye out on eBay or Gumtree for a dish local to you I doubt I could justify £200+ for a new Gibby just for C-Band, I got mine very reasonably second hand.

Also recommend the TM5402 love mine, but right now I am actually using a £40 receiver that came in a Ross kit from B&Q for C-Band and it's S2 tuner is better on DVB-S channels than my old TM-1500CI+. Plus decent blindscan.

Thanks Remlap. Ill look our for a secind Gibertini the problem might be finding a polar mount. What mount are you using by the way. Ive now seen that the Technomate box is full of tricks.

For now I am using a Diseqc motor with a 55mm tube, with an extra dish mounting bracket that works as a spacer. Wall mount is a Channel Master "Trimast" I have spare.

Nice... The Gibertini must be a lot lighter rhan the Channel Master and there are more options for a polar mount / diseq. Anybody know the weight and focal length of the dish arm. Forget to mention let me know how u get on at 30e.

It's light enough but honestly I am not sure if I'd be happy with a diseqc motor in the long term, especially if I was going around the arc looking for feeds in KU.

I think Ill go down the v box and superjack route and also use a combined c/ku band universal lnbf from the same company at least that way I could try some c band channels and pull in the weaker ku band channels.

Sadly...no you wont ..
C band may well be ok with a combined ku/C lnb ..providing your dish is big enough ...but you will only pull in the _stronger_ ku transponders ...definately not the weaker ones.
Those combined lnbs are really only practical on BUDs as used in the USA etc .

Yep definitely, my LNB which is only part of KU band it was having problems with Astra 1 signal was very low! I only bought due to only C-Band LNB available in the UK right now at a decent price.

Back to the original plan then, Ku band LNB on 1m Channel Master and C Band LNBF on the Gibertini.

Sounds the best idea mate.

Little update for tonight Tele-Sahel on 3646 R 2170 is breakup free tonight and CRTV on 3711 L 2785 which oddly I have to step my dish further east to lock onto was error free last night.

Received my Panorama ER861 LNB, AV-Comm Waveguide Polariser and scalar ring yesterday from JOHN896 many thanks to him.

Tried for BBC Arabic this morning and instantly it brought it in with no break up, only the last 10 minutes has it started to break up and its better than it ever was on the older LNB with just a dielectric plate.

Signals increased across the board but no other channel locks yet, I don't think my motor is skewing the dish correctly so that's some thing to look at.
