Salty I see where you are coming from with this, however...
I feel I should be the exception as I have had all Brawn/Merc from before the season started, I had a leap of faith in Jenson,Rubino & Ross as I like many others have followed them for years & thought it may be special...

If I was wrong then I would of had to change them all at my expense...

So to stop my babbering in a nutshell-I didn't jump on the band wagon I had them from the very start & feel I should not have my account ammended, what are your views on this Salty & of course the rest of you players?

I have to say that I'm the same as MM, had selected JB well before he started winning, but at the end of the day it can't go on like this, so perhaps this is the only way of sorting it out.

would it not be more fair to leave the ones that chose any Brawn-Merc option before the season start & anyone who chose after race 1 the new rules apply to?

This is obviously out of my hands, it's a PFF1 rule change made by Maverick. However, if I'd been in Mav's position, I'd have almost certainly done the same thing. Mav has argued that while this does the most harm to all-Brawn teams, everyone was able to select all-Brawn so it's only right that everyone is affected by the rule change.

Also, there are limitations on just what changes Mav can make. I'd imagine that applying rules to some and not others or applying rules retrospectively is quite difficult to do on a practical level. Doing it this way is the most painless and efficient way of balancing out things.

The way I see it, it's the same as if the FIA were to decide that a certain component that some of the teams had developed was making the cars go too fast, and banning that component - some teams were using it, but every teams could have used it within the rules, and so every team should from that point onwards be prevent from using it.

It does for me it just links back to my post earlier in the thread post 159

Whilst I do have sympathy with the original all Brawners I agree with others that something had to be done. I feel that not being able to select all elements of the same team is something that should have been in before the start of the season and should certainly be added for next year if so many teams are going to be joining up, as potentially exactly the same thing could happen with them

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel snatched pole position for Sundays Turkish Grand Prix as he bumped Brawn GP's Jenson Button off the top slot in the dying moments of qualifying at Istanbul Park. In the closing seconds Vettel's team mate Mark Webber set the pace with his second run as he lapped in 1m 28.613s, but moments later Button took that away with 1m 28.421s and Brawn team mate Rubens Barrichello pulled on to his bumper with 1m 28.579s...

About time the Brawns suffered a technical problem - Barrichello lost top gear. Thats his afternoon over for any major attack on the points

Shame for Seb vettel though, one mistake cost him the race.
I hope jenson wins this year but it is lacking some stiff competition on the whole don't you think?

Just been looking at the league - the new points assessments for Brawn have been applied, although 5 free changes have been permitted so anyone with a Brawn component in their team neeeds to reassess the layout - if you start the next race on a -ve costing you get a massive 75 points penalty

What does this mean?
Does it mean you need to get rid of all Brawn or just get back to a zero balance or above?

You need to get back to zero balance. Basically you cant have more than one Brawn element now due to the cost penalty.

[fieldset=Race report provided via The Feedster - TURKISH DELIGHT FOR BUTTON, 6 OUT OF 7!] Hot from F1.com

Jenson Button made it six from seven as he ran away and hid from the Red Bulls of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel in Turkey on Sunday. It was a perfect riposte for Brawn after their defeat in China at the hands of the Australian/German duo. Vettel led from pole but as team mate Rubens Barrichello made a terrible start from the clean side of the grid, Button held on to second place. When Vettel ran wide exiting Turn 10 the championship leader pounced mercilessly and thereafter did not relent...

F1 SupaLiga 2009

Full table and graph attached

Jenson Button continued his astonishing run in this 2009 season, taking his sixth victory in seven races. Starting 2nd on the grid, Button pounched on a first lap mistake by pole-sitter Sebastian Vettel to take the lead and never looked back. Button is now hotly tipped of the championship after becoming the first British driver since Nigel Mansell 1992 championship-winning season to win four consecutive races.

With the Brawn GP revaulation coming in after the Turkish Grand Prix, this afternoon's race is somewhat of a watershed moment in the SupaLiga season.

kleefarr's Honda-Williams still lead the league, but following this race have seen their advantage cut to just 7 points. BTTR, managed by Dazdazdazzy, are back into 2nd with a score of 148pts today. As a result, my Dynamo team slip to 3rd but are still in the PFF1 Cup places, 10pts ahead of Pro-Drive. BTTR are now also ahead of everyone else in the chase for the European Cup.

Top scorers today are Topper and his Tossers, taking 149pts today to jump Superkomanda into 6th. rolfw's is Burnin' Rubber but remains in 5th.

The only other movement is between Linhas BMW and Outcast, who swap 14th and 15th. And finally, and perhaps poetically given the impending revaluation of Brawn GP elements, no less than 19 teams scored more than 100pts today - an all-time SupaLiga record.
